Happy birthday Greg. Hopefully, we will meet in person before you get another year older, on the water in Saratoga or Massachusetts, or at CRASH-Bs!
Btw, it seems you are a day older than I.

No.
It should not be that obscure, I hope. It is from a classic 1950 comedy, that was remade in 1991 (perhaps without the quote).
It may not be one of the lines that usually get quoted, but I like it!

Let's try:

Re: Name that tune
Paul, we are not playing horse shoes or dealing with hand grenades, so "close enough" does not apply. Since you were kind enough to give me the benefit with my previous, not totally correct answer #-o , I do not think I should get credit for "naming" the last one. We seem...

Correct, Jan. You can turn off your magic beam now.
I believe the original was by The Chordettes, with other covers later.
Your turn.

Re: Name that tune
I thought it was just called Brand New Key, but close enough! Your turn. Ann was concerned that the actual title was shorted than what I wrote, but I assured her either it would be accepted or not. :? Thanks for the acceptance! Ok Peter... get jiggy wit it  Yah mon. Re: Name that tune
I know it now, and when I told Ann the lyrics, she started singing!
"I Got A Brand New Pair Of Roller Skates, You Got A Brand New Key."
That seems like a long title, so I guess that is why the Artist has only one name: Melanie.

Beep! Beep! - Beep! Beep!
His horn went Beep Beep beep.
Thanks Ron, I was worried that no one would get this.
It was by the Playmates.
I did learn my lesson, though. I will not ask for Hoosier music!

Re: Name that tune
Er, when was looking things up allowed? :-k He said that his first quote was not really a new tune to be named. At first I thought it was a line from a movie, but Paul seemed surprised that I did not recognize the song. Since it was not a tune to be named on this thread, I did look it up. I am emba...
