Re: what training have free spirits been doing today?

My recovery was not quite as yesterday (Maybe I ate for dinner not enough, got little hungry during night): https://www.evernote.com/shard/s14/sh/0739b6e3-a4fa-4e5f-8913-977048ff6b60/883e58d2001bcdaa749c4e913ee76763/deep/0/141121105458.png To preserve some energy for a second session (some sort of s...

Re: what training have free spirits been doing today?

Ooo! Nice stat display for recovery etc. What is it? It's great tool (a real mobile 500 Mhz ECG/EKG, from a little company from austria), which I really love. \:D/ I have tendencies to "burn out" and/or to "overtrain"… since using it, I never had a "bad day" any more. ...

Re: Rowpro question

I followed your advice and did today "planned" session… and RowPro saved the session data. =D>

Is there any useful build in data analyzing option? (As by e-mail discussed, the Excel file you send me does not work with the Mac version of office 2011).

I have improved my repeatability on finger blood samples by strictly executing the same protocol everytime. Great!! =D> 1. wipe hands on dry towel 2. wipe hands on clean wet towel 3. wipe hands on dry towel 4. alcohol wipe on finger tip 5. prick finger, squeeze a drop 6. wipe drop 7. squeeze second...

Re: Lactate based training

It will be very difficult to use lactate testing once I start rowing on the water, so I will use HR zones then and stick to a plan where my endurance sessions stay below the 80% HRR level and I increase pace when I finish a session around 70% HRR. I intend to go back and use lactate based methods f...

Re: Rowpro question

I have downloaded and installed a trial of RowPro 4.2 (in a virtual machine, because I normaly use a Mac). Today I tried to use RowPro during my session. I just started rowing and haven't setup any Rowpro session/plan. It seemed that it worked, becasue during workout I could see some results. At the...

Re: what training have free spirits been doing today?

The night was not that good, I had too warm. So I slept quite choppy. But… my morning measurement told me, that I'm well recovered from yesterday. =D> https://www.evernote.com/shard/s14/sh/e4ea4268-bd90-4cf5-9acf-788920e64596/f450975629949e41379235081cd2266e/deep/0/141120154047.png So I de...

Re: C2 v Water Rowers for training

As I know/understand the Concept2 rowers are selfcalibrating , means: you can climb on any Concept2 rower and get an accurate and calibrated measurement of your true performance. The WaterRower rowers have to be calibrated : Once you fill your WaterRower, make sure you use Advanced Program 8 on the ...

Re: Preventing lower back problems?

This video will hopefully make me get more use out of them - and sort out my back at the same time! Good luck! Maybe (if you like and allowed) one advice/hint… Starting theses excercises it's a common mistake not to really engage the core muscles – people are just not used to it and tend to hold fo...

Re: what training have free spirits been doing today?

I did this morning (20min after wakeup, no breakfast, no coffee  ) an 5x5/5r intervall… After warming up for 15min, I did the first split/set/round a little bitt to fast, so I couldn't "negativ split" till the last one. The last one was till minute 4 very bad with 1:50, but the last m...

Here some examples of simple excercises to strenghten the core "in a functional way". If well done they are difficult, but you don't need much eqipment: http://youtu.be/phzVJ39-hX8

Re: Peak Power Training

I did this yesterday… after warming up I reached my best score (624W) with the 3rd attempt. After waiting/recovery for 5min, I started to do 20 sprints of 10sec with 60sec rest (rowed very slightly during rest). To reach above 90% of max was no issue at all. Could even do them in a row as was not fa...

Re: Lactate based training

There a few things I don't quite understand. - Generally, below the lactate inflection point, measurements should be below 2.0mmol/l, but mine kind of bounced around the 2.0 level. I'm not sure if that means that I just have a higher resting lactate level or if there is something wrong with testing...

Hi

Hi As a new member I'd like to say hello. :D I have to admit that I'm not a native english speaker (and don't write good at all; I generally prefer to speak ), so I hope you're tolerant/patient with my mistakes. I started indoor-rowing (Concept2 Modell D with PM3) on September 4th 2014....
