Re: what training have free spirits been doing today?

I exclusively use ErgZone without the upgrade Rob. I get a lot of data but not things like the graphs you are talking about and the power curves etc. I like it because of how easy it is to set up new sessions. As others have pointed out, given I use it so much I should probably subscribe, but when I...

Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?

Well done Rob. 2k PB is always a special one. Now you have a target pace (new PB) I reckon you could improve the time again with a classic 2k pacing approach. For info. my pacing approach was always: fast 100m to start, taper down to target pace so I am there by 250m. Hold until 400-500m to go. Grad...

Re: New ctc site

Aha. I understand what you are saying now Iain....I think. So, if I look at the current CTC, there are 44 boats afloat. FSII is in 20th place and so has (44-20) x 1.2 points which is 29 points when rounded. This gives those ashore 50% of 29 points which is 15 when rounded. If those ashore managed to...

Re: what training have free spirits been doing today?

I didn’t HD Iain, I just lost track of where I was. But you are right, I never HD even if it means just paddling to the end of a session.

Re: New ctc site

Iain, I haven’t changed the calculation other than adding in the 1.2 factor because the unfloated boats no longer count in the total number of boats. We have been running with 50% of the lowest boat for unfloated boats all of last season after The Diamonds made the number of boats so high that the o...

My usual 3x4/3/2/1min with rate changes. Aim is to get to 85% HR quickly and then stay below 95%. Zoned out during first piece and stopped before the 1min. [emoji2361]

Re: New ctc site

The new analysis tool is now in place -> http://www.freespiritsrowing.com/c2ctc/c2ctc_analysis.php and can be accessed via the Utilities menu on the forum. There are some differences: As I proposed earlier. I have applied a factor of x1.2 to scores to compensate for the fact that unfloated boats are...

Re: New ctc site

Hi Jon - is the plan over time to switch the link tab at the top of the Forum page to take us to the new site? Jon, apologies if you've mentioned this already .. one little thing to change will be the link to CTC on our banner at the top of the forum pages This is done now Steve and Plummy. But it ...

Jon, apologies if you've mentioned this already .. one little thing to change will be the link to CTC on our banner at the top of the forum pages Good spot. I imagine there are various links to the old site lurking. I'll try to weed them out. Meanwhile, the new version of our tool is coming along. ...

I have entered a time but I don’t seem to have a team and am also listed as female. There doesn’t seem to be an option to amend your account but I have used the message function. Hopefully they can sort it out You should have been asked about category and team when you registered. Didn't that appea...

Re: New ctc site

Making slow progress. This is all just plain text at the moment, but the output of the new tool is below. You'll see that I have managed to combine rowers that are in and not in a boat which was slightly tricky given the layout of the new site. The list of rowers is in ranked order rather than boat ...

Re: Free Spirits CTC Participation and Leaderboard

Fred, I'm working on the new tool for the CTC. Because of the way the site has changed, it is not going to be possible to mix results from the new and old versions of the CTC site. This means that the scores for February will not be available in the tool. Could you grab then and add them into the sp...

Re: New ctc site

The other thing I just realised is that our calculations for the CTC tables will probably need to change if they keep the new site as it is. The current calculation for a floating boat is: points = total boats in this CTC - boat position of this boat ...but that will give a far lower score if only f...

Re: New ctc site

A few people have posted here about a 'feature' which probably poses a security risk to the new CTC site. I have emailed the guys who have created the site about this. It is probably best if we don't write about it here and highlight the issue, and so I have deleted the messages from this thread.

Re: New ctc site

I'm not sure I am going to be able to rewrite the tool if the design of the new site stays the way it is. Right now it is impossible to view the current standings unless you have logged in to the site. This is fine when you are sat at home viewing in a browser, but our CTC tool is sat on a separate ...

This seems to be working better now. Some changes from the old site that it is worth noting: You can now reset your password without having to contact the administrators. For those of you who aren’t watching the C2CTC thread, things are a bit rocky in the new site. Right now, everyone entering a result is entering on behalf of the CTC organiser. It also isn’t completely clear to me how registration works (e.g. is my username also my rower name, and do i need to keep ...

Re: February CTC: Sprint Sandwich

Well that was horrid. I managed to hit exactly 75kg this morning so I decided to have a go despite time away nursing my back. I targeted Boat 2 and Peter Tullet’s time (sorry Peter), promising myself I would take things easy and stop if the back was not feeling ok. I have never had the HD demons as ...
