Mr P, may I have a moment for the 10 million on the rower please.
I so wanted a gold star but my sieve like brain added an extra 0 on the still to go calculation - whoops.
Here is to many more since I never envisaged I would get to this many.

Re: Pan Pacific Masters Games
I believe Phillip is selling himself a bit short. Factually correct that he was the only one in his group for the Pan Pacs, but always put in a brilliant effort. Flying the Free Spirits flag  on day 1 with the shirt. Very ably assisted by Hazel to hold the machine. It was certainly a busy c...

Re: October CTC: 3x2k+2´r
Done early since our Nationals are almost upon us. It won't put me in the 1st boat as I did it at R18 but it will fill a boat. R18 so it was a better fit for my training plan.

If flat Stanley can be found and given a bed to travel in - he could go to the Australian Nationals (29th October) and visit the rowing club
Or perhaps son of Stanley could be born

This is going to give me the horrors!
2min - what is that - more than 500 - less than 750? But then again good practice, maybe, for a series of hiit sessions planned for October. Definitely need to press go on this earlier rather than later.

Re: About slides
Well 167 responses from a facebook group is hardly indicative of all people who participate in the CTC. Using slides in the CTC is hardly giving someone world domination for an event that has no prizes except bragging rights. Then again certain people I note of late, not in this forum, are fond of b...

Re: Dog Days of Summer
I think I can manage this challenge, since i'm currently rowing roughly 75 to 80,000m a week
In case someone doesnt recognise this challenge by name it looks like this. No signup required, just a concept2 logbook
From August 1 row each week
10, 000m week 1
20, 000 wk 2
30, 000 wk3
40, 000 wk4

Re: New life
While I am regular rower with a rowing program I pay for, I manage the CTC events but not always at full throttle. They just don't fit into the 12month plan. I am not motivated at all by the concept challenges such as rowing max metres in a specific month but will usually join any team challenge alo...

Re: Training and Music (or other sounds)
I'm a no music person when erging. If in a group at the rowing club then they always play music but I just tune it out anyway. Just me and the erg. There is always something to focus on, the set rate or pace or minor form changes and what happens to the rate/pace each time. The internal drama of rea...

Re: About slides
How ridiculous that people are "discussing" if slides should count. They are clearly in the rules of a friendly competition. There is no gold for coming first, perhaps some friendly banter? I wouldnt be surprised if there are others that row on slides or bend the rules a little by using ro...

Re: Queensland Indoor Rowing Championships
Well a year has gone so quickly and we have just done this event for 2022. QIRC, Sunday 5th June. Rule change means only allowed to enter 4 events plus relay. A Bradbury win in the 2k, only person in it. Another 4 gold but for this time of year the times are more the point. 2k 7.49.1 1min 302m 500m ...

Re: Anyone had any SEASON's bests recently?
A solid 6k at this time of year, I'm quite happy with. It may turn out to be an entire season best since I don't do this distance hard, very often.
25.07.4 for a 2.05.6 av pace. My all time best is 2.04.7 pace for 24.56 so all things considered, doing OK.

Re: Form and UT2 rowing
You are very correct Jon. I do loads of T2 work. Most at 18 or 20 with various time from 12 min to 20min reps. Usually not more than 20min in each rep as coach says peoples core and form start to lapse after that. When I really concentrate on form my pace goes faster as well. I presume that means th...

Re: Strength training(on and off the erg)
An exciting little weights purchase this week - a set of fractionated plates. The raw steel plates I have are in pairs of 20, 10, 5 and 2.5kg so the lightest addition of weight to the bar is 5kg. Who ever knew that 5kg was sssoooooo heavy when you are close to your heaviest weights. So on advice fro...

Re: May CTC - 10x100m / 1´ rest
Sprint work is not my thing. Since my best 100m is 19.2 I'm quite happy to only do this once for a time of 3.18.2 av pace 1.39.1. Everything 20 and under, not in order but 4 at 20.0, 4 at 19.8 and 2 at 19.4.
Awful thing to have to do.

Got it done last weekend before being away for work and other things planned now im back home. It forced me to stop tw...

Thanks for the ongoing support everyone. Getting to the start line and finishing 4th at a world championship really is great. Re: Injuries.....:(
While I held onto 4th place, it was a train wreck from start to finish. I would have needed over 6s pb to gain 3rd but I would have been happy with any pb. Right from the start I couldn't hold pace and finished with a 7.45, 6s slower than my pb. I could offer loads of excuses but in reality it was a...

The race is on!!! Healed enough to race but only once so have pulled out of the 500, just doing my beloved 2k  In lay mans terms he has allowed the tear to heal close together, which means it was quicker than the normal 4 to 6 weeks. It does however mean that it could tear under too much pressu...
