Re: Rowpro 30' CTC Thursday June 5, 18:30 GMT -- COMPLETED

Looks like it was a great race 8) - wish I could have joined in but didn't want to risk and injury

Maybe you can run another one later in the month

Re: I won something from C2!

This thread took some finding!! E-mail from C2 today.... "I have the pleasure of notifying you that your name was drawn today as our weekly winner for last week's 50,000 meter category! Congratulations! We'll be sending you a C2 T-shirt!" Woo-hoo! Maybe I should buy a lottery ticket? Plumm...

Re: 100k Charity Row

I've had my queries answered by Jake at C2 UK. It's fine for me to load a "Custom Row" on Rowpro at 20 x 5k with no rest and record the total time taken. I tried last night (although I stopped after 3 cycles of 5k to 0m). The bottom left hand of the Rowpro screen shows a countdown from 100...

Re: 100k Charity Row

As 100k rows seem to be being thrown in by everyone this week I think Gooner and I have had our thunder stolen somewhat. (really it's gooner's event as he is raising money for charity) It's still a massive undertaking by 2 little LWT's with absolutely no guarantee of even finishing so it would be ni...

Re: 100k - Data stream

Plummy , I'm pretty sure you should be able to set whatever distances you want on the PM4 with the variable option. I think Stan (pretty sure) said you could do this and set the resting time to zero allowing you to plot all the important times you want to fill up your signature box. Otherwise the o...

Re: 100k - Data stream

Hi Webberg - what splits do you want? I was thinking of setting them at around 5k for my 100k attempt on Saturday. I havn't yet figured whether I set the distance on Rowpro or whether I have to do it on the PM4 (which doesn't appear to let me set a distance greater than 50k). I will try and glimpse ...

Welcome Dragfactor - good to have you with us and posting. I think Thomas W-P (the post immediately above yours) is geographically VERY close by so maybe (being one of our "ace" rowers) he could help out with a technique critique. There's masses of info available on correct technique on th...

Re: June ctc - 30 mins unrestricted

I wasn't going to try this until later in the month but figured I may not want to see an erg after Saturday for a while. Managed 7741m (Ave 1:56.3). I've definitely lost a lot of speed over the last 4-6 weeks and it shows. It could be the high number of metres and lack of rest days has also played i...

Re: WELCOME to New Members

Hi Owain and welcome aboard! We are virtually next door neighbours. Although it's a dim and hazy memory, I think my first ever 2k attempt was around 8:23 (at the end of a workout at the gym when I wondered what those "rowing thingies" were). It only took a few attempts to get under 8 minut...

Re: what training have free spirits been doing today?

Another steady HM today. 1:29:42.0. Lost about a minute as I got yet ANOTHER blister and had to stop to tape it up with 4.5km to go (didn't want to risk it getting too bad with only a week to go to the 100km shenanigans).

That's 4 x HM and 1 x FM in May

Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?

Not a PB as such, but have just clocked up 300k in a month for the first time. Think the pace may slip ere long, however... That's an interesting observation Ben! - I've never looked a monthly metres rowed and I suppose they can be a PB of sorts. Just looked at mine for May and realised I'd managed...

I've just ticked the box to join in and keep Thomas company - but believe me I WILL be at the back (legs very heavy after the marathon weekend).

Can you confirm that it is 7.30pm UK time (I think that's 6.30 GMT).

Re: Advice needed for 60k Row

Hi Duckrunner, The only advice I can offer (from my limited long distance experience), is to grind out lots of long slow rows. As much to find the potential weak spots (numb bum/blisters/rowers nipple etc) as to get the muscles used to the monotony. I find the temptation to chase a target VERY diffi...

Thanks for the best wishes guys - Mrs Plummy is up and about again and seems to be recovered (I can usually tell by the list of jobs I'm given!). Finally got around to looking at the splits (I hadn't set them and they defaulted to 2k so there's a few of them - sorry). 2000 - 2:15.2 4000 - 2:14.6 600...

Re: 24th MAY 2008: Johny Logan, Julio Iglesias, ABBA??

Morning all! Finished in a reasonable 3:09.22.5. I set off steady and as I wanted to feel that I could carry on at the end but having told Woj that I would text him every 5k, the time losses in texting started to nag me a bit. I was intending to go at about 2:20 pace but starting pulling to about 2:...

Re: 24th MAY 2008: Johny Logan, Julio Iglesias, ABBA??

Woj and I are now set on paddling a marathon each tonight (if there is such a thing as paddling a marathon) and keep texting each other per 5km to see how we are progressing. I'm not going for any sort of time as I NEED to complete a BIG row in before June 7th's madness. Heck, if I can't do 42k, I'v...

Excellent PB's both John for the 500m and Ben for the 60 mins (I agree with Wolfie about the other distances Mr Skinner! )
