Re: Indoor Rowers League 2019/2020

Wanted to see how it would go. My aim was a 1:55 pace but after a while thought that a sub 19:00 minutes would be a nice target. Finished at 18:56.7, about 22 seconds slower then last year but at least it was 903 points for the Nonathlon. Happy to pass the 900 there. As opposed to the CTC here it fe...

Re: Happy birthday Fred (fkoene)!

Thanks Peter,

Let's see what will happen in that age group, but for now I'll do my best in this one.
Treated myself on a sports massage this afternoon, which was very enjoyable after the holiday challenge meters and the gym workouts the last weeks.

Re: December ctc - 7 x 1 minute / 70“r

I was afraid to go too fast but then I found out that a lower stroke rate was easier to maintain throughout the reps. So I think I can improve my score a bit. I think all reps in a sub 1:40 pace should be possible. Well, let's see.

Re: December ctc - 7 x 1 minute / 70“r

I've been working on the holiday challenge mostly this week but today wanted to see how this would go. Fortunately no more lower back problems, so no physical limitations this time. Dave mentioned that he was going to try to increase his stroke rate but for me a lower stroke rate with more powerful ...

Re: Free Spirits CTC Participation and Leaderboard

According to the sheet November was Philip's 100th CTC. According to a previous post from Roger he's already a bit further. I trust Roger in this, but, should he be wrong, congratulations Philip. A new entry this year, the 101th entry for Michelle. Welcome back... Nothing much has changed. Ange and ...

Re: Indoor Rowers League 2019/2020

With my back still not well enough for sprints I decided to do a cautious attempt on this month's IRL row. Thought a 1:58 pace wouldn't hurt too much. Felt okay, decided to speed up a little bit and managed a negative split. It's about half a minute slower then last year but under the circumstances ...

Re: November ctc - 1k/3:30r/750m/2:30r/500m/1:30r/250m

Over to you Fred :fswink: I gave it a try just now but I quit early in the second rep. Had some lower back problems since last saturday and though it felt better during the day today, when I started to row the 750 mtr I felt pain so I thought it would be wiser to stop. The first 1000m was more then...

Re: November ctc - 1k/3:30r/750m/2:30r/500m/1:30r/250m

Thanks Fred, when are you having a go? Well, today then... my first attempt. Perhaps antoher one later this month. Almost two seconds behind Peter. If I want to overcome that gap, I'll have to do it in the first part I think. I started out way too fast in the first 1000 mtr, held back for a bit, pe...

Re: Free Spirits CTC Participation and Leaderboard

27 participants in October, no new entries. In the top 10 Steve and Morten changed places. With Barbara missing this one Ange entered the top 10, with only 9 participations so far very well done. Good luck in November everybody. Only eight entry's there so far but no doubt the number will grow. The ...

Good luck with the IRL mile today :fswink:

Great rowing everyone. Have to see what I can do with the short stuff, tomorrow I have to row 24K in the canals of Amsterdam, which takes us about three hours, so that's quite different from this.

Re: Free Spirits CTC Participation and Leaderboard

Haha, I’ll do my best Peter. The sheet is a bit confused at the moment, but I hope to have time to repair it today. The ranking is a bit out of order at the 36th position due to a hidden column I believe. Have to dive into that.

Re: Free Spirits CTC Participation and Leaderboard

Hi, yes, I thought so but I saw a number of entries aa Rodger (8) and 75 as your lighter self. But I’ll put them together in the RGelissen line. Now just don’t make things more complicated by entering both a lightweight and heavyweight score in the same month. Theoretically possible. Verzonden vanaf...

Re: October ctc - 666 meters

An early entry. Was surprised to be able to maintain a sub 1:40 pace.
The end was painful though. HD’ing was tempting but I managed to finish.

By the way, welcome back in the CTC PaulG.

Re: Free Spirits CTC Participation and Leaderboard

An early update this month. Only 24 participants. Guy has taken the lead. Unfortunately no entry from Marta this month which made her drop from the 9th to the 15th position. One new entry: Louise, welcome. Have fun with the sprint stuff in October. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1aaWKji7QA0n...

The new challenge is announced: the AIRC halloween howler.
666 meters from a standing start.
At least it can be over in a couple of minutes.

I can see Guys amazing row on the individual score table but cannot see the Free Spirits team entry at all - nor can I see a tab/link to the 8on8 competition (maybe those two things are linked)? Is my 1075m visible to anyone else? I see your score as well, Dave. Peter mentioned earlier that the Fre...

Re: Indoor Rowers League 2019/2020

In the current month’s results I see two unteamed Free Spirits. When they want would it be possible to create two teams? Or is it still not enough then?
The people concerned are Louise Allcock and Chris Newberry.
