Re: October CTC - 12 minutes in pieces

And... Paul V... You are soooo BUSTED! LOL What did I do? That was back when I enjoyed rowing (some of the time, at any rate). Yeah, I guess I can still recall some resemblance of that feeling, Paul... (You did an even more ridiculous challenge back then - The Blind Devil

Re: October CTC - 12 minutes in pieces

Off topic, I know, but about the Blind Devil Challenge: Oh, that´s how it went... Who the heck invented that thing, Mike :?:  Maybe an idea for a future ctc :?: :!: :?: (NOT! [-X :^o ) I'm pretty sure it was invented by the legendary Thomas W-P. It would almost be worth putting it up as ...

Re: October CTC - 12 minutes in pieces

First little tryout today. Got 3237 active m and 28 "passive" resulting in a result of 3209m.

Made my biggest mistake in the 1st rep: 346m but the total slid to 353m #-o , meaning there was a 7m deduction. Then adjusted to only getting a few metres "extra" in the following... 8)

Re: October CTC - 12 minutes in pieces

Liefcat - that blind devil challenge we used to do was to aim to get exactly 666m, but you did the whole thing eyes closed! It is one of the more fun (and inclusive) challenges, but it can be very frustrating :-) Oh, that´s how it went... Who the heck invented that thing, Mike :?:  Maybe...

Re: October CTC - 12 minutes in pieces

Wow - this is actually interesting... I guess I will aim for a relatively hard strokes with +4 secs left of the interval... In my old rowing Club we did a challenge to get as close to say 500m as possible, and I am still doing it on my own Till this very day... So I will try to Switch from meters to...

I love that bouncing image, Iain :!:   Well done, Paul! =D> =D> Wouldn´t want to have that ICD bouncing... [-X  Personally my ICD burst paced during the 12x1´+1´ in February 2020 (I chose not to do any CTC attempt for a month or two back then). Anyways, I think we may both go faster ...

Re: May ctc - 200 seconds, standing start

I think the 'pace' confusion is coming from the fact that the pace column on the CTC site is showing the pace as if the distance was done for 3 mins, and not the actual 3:20, so it is giving an incorrect (faster) pace value. This is probably a limitation of the CTC site design, likely that it can o...

Re: May ctc - 200 seconds, standing start

Woj - yes. Fly wheel must be stationary. Liefcat - you’ve lost me I’m afraid. There is no pace element to this, it is just a 200 second sprint. Agreed - just gun it for 200 seconds and go as far as you can. It'll still hurt like hell (depending on how fast you go of course) Yes, guys, you´ve lost m...

Re: May ctc - 200 seconds, standing start

You thought that the times with statements by Liefcat was over?!? Well, guess what... They are not! Traditionally... I mean in the previous 199 ctcs, there were two options... Distance or time... Now it seems that "pace" should be the decisive factor... (Well, on top of that the ctc algori...

Re: April ctc - 10‘r20 - 5‘r - 10‘r20, the slower one to count

I find that the best way to do R20 is to watch the clock and time the catches spot on the multiples of 3. Any thoughts on how hard to go on this as 200 strokes is too many to do full on, but presumably it is significantly faster than 30R20 where the first 5' seems pretty easy if paced flat. The oth...
