Well I've managed to post the pic of the transatlantic gathering.
In fact I've done it twice! How do you delete one (the first)?

I'll add my thanks to T-WP for his effort in creating this, great stuff Thomas.

I'm not liking myself for even typing this  ... didn't realise I was so anal... until now #-o . Question is, what are the rules for an "Neighbouring continent", and what's two continents away? Europe is obviously linked to Asia, & Africa. Does that mean North America & South ...

Paul, Mark & Brian, excellent stuff guys.
With eye's up in the air at Paul's distance (I really fancy you for the sub 7 2k in June mate).
And total respect again for Mark's effort, top drawer.

Nice one Stan, you seem to be doing really well sticking to plan, reaching targets, and posting good meters too.
Good to see, good luck with keeping it going!

I know it's drifted off topic but Hersheys Kisses are vile. I lived for a year in the USA and one of the things I missed most about living in the UK was the total lack of decent chocolate confectionary (with the exception of Godiva which which why it is so raved about over there). If you imagine wh...

Hands Across The Water

The first Free Spirits transatlantic meeting took place as planned last night, and I must thank Peter Trusio, his friend Scott, and Boris Z for a great welcome and fun evening. Pete picked me up and we headed to the beautiful university town of Princeton to meet Boris. A quick trip around town had u...

I like where you are going with the Henly theme, however Nick my opinion about the 2112m would be that it's too close to the resent 7 minute test for many people.

I think John Glynn, Mike Channin and I hold that honour. Mike came over here for the IIRC last December and there's even a photo of Mike and me on the Concept 2 site (March madness winners) to prove it! :P Your's can be the first transatlantic or transcontinental meeting. :D Paul Sorry Paul how cou...

I'm off to the states for 2 weeks on business, so I expect to return at the bottom of the board with some catching up to do (can you believe I couldn't find a hotel with a C2 in it in Atlanta?!) However, the up side is we should have our first (?) international FS meeting. If Peter Trusio &am...

Don't know why I haven't tried a rugby test yet (as an ex-rugby player), must get around to it and see if I can give you a challenge

Oh JR, now you're talking my language! In my mind good ol George was the 2nd star of Live Aid (after Queen of course). After first catching him on an old BBC2 series "rock goes to college" in the very early 80s I finally managed to see him the past two years as he's toured the UK (took my ...

Surely these river challenges are very similar to last years distance challenges set up by Mike i.e the lands end to john o groats right up to the Atlantic challenge. They all ran concurrently not separately. I think that worked very well. Not disputing your logic Wolfie but I think this system wor...

Nonathlon dilema

I need some help on a personal dilema that I can't solve regarding nonathlon 2008 & the FS improvement challenge. I understand the need to record new times for each distance as it's a new season and we are all a year older. No problem. However, which time do we record? Is it the 1st standard pie...

I'm not sure I agree with that logic Rita & Dave. If you take the marathon swimmer that Tom (I think) pointed us too, he had to swim all his rivers fromstart to finish on different occaisions. Think about it, if you were to row them OTW, and you completed 2840m of the Danube. If you then wanted ...

Waiting for a response to mine from earlier in the day. I've posted on the C2 forum as well, as I have a concern about the 2nd hand value of our machines. We all know that concept2 rowers hold their value pretty well, so when we come to upgrade we'll get a good amount. Well, would you buy a "do...

Nice one Brian, keep up the # of sessions and the times will tumble. 11 seconds off my 6k to 22:16.5 from the CTC today. Being 24SR I never even gave the time a thought until Max mentioned it was a reasonable one an hour or so later, so I then checked against my chart! Last 6k PB was only a few week...

As I like a set piece for my erg sessions I picked this for today. I coincedently recorded the time just as the new CTC was available so I'm top of the list! Now there's only 2 people there, and obvioulsy it will be beaten pretty quickly, however I can't tell you how childishly happy this makes me :...
