Re: February CTC: Sprint Sandwich
I've picked up a back injury and also crept over 75kg. Brilliant!
I still intend to get some kind of entry done over the next couple of days.
Meanwhile we have 21 rowers and 5 boats at the moment, but just two boats afloat.

Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?
Wanted to update my SB for the 6k, was sitting at 25:20 -- so I figured I'd try to break 2:00 pace, and shot for 24:00 flat. I didn't realize my previous PB from last year was at 24:30. Scored a 23:58.7, and so they both fell. Thanks 2022/2023 Rob for being so weak sauce on the 6k. (Which is a litt...

Well done Rob. It’s great to see how quickly you have developed your ability to deliver power at lower ratings. [emoji1320]

Re: Nonathlon 2023/2024
Hi Jon Great, thanks a lot! Well, I had a pulmonary embolism in March 2022 and was struggling a little in the 2023 Nonathlon season. I'm slowly getting faster again. Maybe I need to compare with the 2022 or even earlier seasons. I see that I do need to give the 500m a serious try soon :) The good t...

Re: Nonathlon 2023/2024
Kay,
I have added you now. You have jumped to 2nd place in the table. Bravo!
It also looks like you are having a very strong season compared to last year, especially on the 1k:

Re: Nonathlon 2023/2024
Hi Peter Could you add me as well to this year's team? My user name on nonathlon ist bierik. Thanks! Kay, adding you to the Nonathlon team on their site does not automatically add you to our tool . I will add you to that too when I get a chance. If you have done the Nonathlon before, did you always...

Re: New ctc site
Thanks Peter. The sooner we get a look the better. Our CTC tool will definitely stop working when they launch the new site and it will take some time to get it back up and working again. I'm sure it will be worth it for the improvements though.

Re: Nonathlon 2023/2024
We don't discuss the Nonathlon much any more. Anyone got any goals for the Nonathlon or Metanonathlon for the season? I'd just like to get a set of scores in to be honest, possibly including the HM. As a reminder, the tools are here: http://www.freespiritsrowing.com/nonathlon_analyser/Nonathlon.php ...

Re: what training have free spirits been doing today?
I did a completely bonkers ZoomErgos session yesterday. The basis was 3x8min 1:30r. Each 8 minutes was split into 5 mini intervals which combined 'base' rating and 'race' ratings with the ratio moving more towards race as the mini-intervals progressed. The base was at r20 and race at r26 in the firs...

Re: Free Spirits CTC Participation and Leaderboard
I will wait for the McNally row to complete and then we can agree a 'factor' to be used to calculate scores. I normally aim to give the winning boat around half of the points of a typical CTC event. Watch this space for my recommendation. Jon The tool is awarding 50 points for the top boat this yea...

Re: February CTC: Sprint Sandwich
I'm really bummed, I did the CM Feb 14 challenge, but didn't realize I didn't have until the end of the day to post it. I was trying to finish all the challenges this year, and it's super disheartening to fail on challenge #2. The other 12 are the heart of the CTC Rob. You can still focus on those,...

Good to see you back Iain, and wishing you a speedy recovery.
FS1 is afloat! Well done all. I will be having a go at some point today.

what training have free spirits been doing today?
Another Zoomergos session today. This one run by Sir Matt Pinsent no less! 2/4/6/6/4/2min r22/24 2:00r. Aim to be able to maintain pace throughout.r22 for first half and r24 for second half of each interval. I really enjoyed this. Watching a multiple gold winning Olympian on an ergo is an eye opener...

Re: what training have free spirits been doing today?
My standard 3x10min with ratings increasing from 18-24 to 22-28. The aim is to get quickly to AT and then stay around there. I pushed a bit too hard and so strayed above AT quite a bit. Enjoyable though. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20240206/dc1f5c8a8ac53ad139d893c08d7109a6.jpg Sent from my iPho...

I think Frans has been having some issues with his account, that may be what has been confusing things.
EDIT - I can see Frans has rejoined the FS team with a new name: F.Vliegenberg.

Re: January Revolutions Challenge - 2024
Not sure that I _enjoyed_ the January Revolutions this year, but it certainly kept me busy: 47,180 Calories, 830,000m (new monthly PB b7 180k!), minimum 21,097m per day. How did everyone else get on? Well done Mike. Amazing stats! As expected I didn't get anywhere near - not even half complete for ...

I had a hunch the problem was dealing with the slightly crazy...
