Time to give this one up: it was I Won't Back Down. ( Tom Petty )
Better luck with this perhaps ...

Re: Name that tune
I didn't think that this one would last very long as that is correct Paul.
The Beatles wrote the song, hence the Liverpool connection but for extra Brownie Points who was the Sheffield born singer who sang a cover version?
Anyways, over to you.

Thank you Paul; it must have been something to do with my inherited ( paternal grandfather's ) Brummie genes.
My choice has a Liverpool/Sheffield connection:
' Lend me your ears and I'l sing you a song '

Peter, your prayers have been answered. :) =D> Over to you. One of the disadvantages of cutting back on my on line time is that I have only just seen your birthday post for Ann. Very belated Birthday Wishes to you Ann and I am so glad that you had such a wonderful time and hope that this coming year...

Re: Name that tune
Now, back to "business", although I am not sure why I want the next turn. Parsley Sage Rosemary and Thyme. Peter, both Carole and Plummy are correct as the song title is Scarborough Fair. Carole is also correct about the album title. Even though your answer may or may not have jogged Plum...

Re: 2022 weight loss thread
Hi Chris and thank you for your message and well done on the 11kgs weight loss which ( I think ) works out at about 23 pounds. =D> I do hope that you will manage to maintain the slimline look and not let the weight creep back up again. With all that has gone on over the last 3 years, it’s more impor...

Re: LADIES banter/training/motivation thread ??
Hi Carole, thank you for your health update and I trust that the additional medication has proved to be beneficial in bringing down your BP. Quite a while back, I was reading an article about thunderclap headaches, which apparently can come on very suddenly, after any sort of exertion, especially wh...

Re: LADIES banter/training/motivation thread ??
Hi Carole. First of all, thank you for the extra family tree info and from your remarks about Sir Francis Drake, it does sound as if he was the English version of Genghis Khan, who also liked the ladies and ( allegedly ) ‘ put it about a bit ‘. :fswink: I am sorry that you have been knocke...

Re: Lifetime Millionaires Club
Much to Jill's likely annoyance, I recall taking the Flamingos off some time ago as editing Googledocs to shoe-horn them in was a bit of a PITA - so reverted to normal stars anyway. David, I am not annoyed and apologise for having been the root cause of any discomfort to your gluteus maximus. :fsbg...

MacArthur Park. Or some such spelling. Peter, not only is the song title correct but also the spelling. =D> :) Over to you. Re: Name that tune
The song was first recorded in 1968 by an Irish actor and singer. This is part of the refrain, with the first line missing because it contains the song title.
