Nice one Thomas - glad my unconventional approach helped inspire you to a PB :) :) - mine was definitely "fly and die" but I did try for full-slide most of the time(I think 45+ SPM at full-slide is a lot easier at 5'8" than at 6'3" though) - sub 1:26 next?

Excellent tool Thomas - quite accurate when predicting 2k from 1k and 5k(2.5 secs out) - nowhere near when using 500m and 1k maximal efforts as predictors(probably due to my 500m being way quicker than my 1k - 12secs/500m). Will have a bit of a play and find out what efforts I SHOULD be producing. P...

This mornings sore head was well worth it!!!! A tight game, as all finals are - have to disagree with Wolfie though - the better team won the tournament and the night - Cueto was VERY close but did just clip the touchline and the video ref got it right - the only decision they got wrong was ignoring...

Have to agree with Graham as well - in my time in the UK me and my family had a few medical emergencies and the NHS was nothing short of brilliant - sure it has it's faults but if more funding was sent it's way rather than having it wasted by useless politicians then it would be even better.

Petr - well done for the PB and hard luck that the last 200m was so tough - I had a similar experience over the last 150m - feels like you are trying to get through thick mud - all momentum just goes!!Still only 2 secs and you will grab that WR so keep at it. Well done Neil and Plummy on your PBs - ...

Thanks Max - well done on your PB though if I can get under 1:25 then you should have no problem doing the same and I am sure you will on your next serious attempt.

Well done Chris - 14k+ =D> - your rate of improvement has been phenomenal!!!!!

Thanks John - the leg stroke is probably closer to 3/4 length due to me being quite a bit shorter than you and less distance covered down the slide. I've never really done weights - I've always been stocky(some would say fat) and naturally carry quite a bit of muscle - I am currently about 92kg and ...

Thanks Stan - who you calling short?  Kirby, I was reasonably quick over 100m at school until I broke my leg twice playing football - turned to 800m but was no good at it at all - have always enjoyed long endurance events even though I am completely unsuited to them. My 63 SPM over the 10...

Thanks Wolfie - at least I have one PB that you won't blast into oblivion when the mood takes you(for now anyway).

Got another PB this evening - this time in the 100m - did 15.3 at an SPM of 63 and almost felt "comfortable" pulling 1:13's for most of the piece.

New 500m PB for me today - managed to go sub-1:25. New time was 1:24.5 at a DF of 148(perhaps a bit too heavy for me) and an SPM of 47 - my splitswere as follows: 100m - 16.7 - 1:23.5 200m - 16.7 - 1:23.5 300m - 16.8 - 1:24.0 400m - 16.9 - 1:24.5 500m - 17.4 - 1:27.0 I really blew up on the last 100...

Brilliant 5k Wolfie!!
Sub-18 is looking pretty close and with this sort of form you must be fancying a 6:40 or better at BIRC.

SA - Pumas was not a great game - a bit too scrappy, Pumas forwards gave the Boks a hard time at scrums and breakdowns but never really looked threatening on attack and got demolished in the lineouts - the game was effectively over at half-time with SA profiting from Argie handling errors(Eddie Jone...

Paul, you are faster and faster. And new target for you? My time? Petr, that 1000m was flat out for me - I had nothing left so I think your time (and sub 3:10) are out of reach for me currently - I'd like to add 20m or so to my 4 minute CTC but there again I am not likely to challenge that incredib...

Great win for England - they did everything they had to do. Now for SA to do the business - Argentina will be tough but I think we will dominate in the last quarter as the Argies tire - as well as they have played up till now I think(and hope) they have shot their bolt - I am expecting my wish to co...

New 1k PB for me today - 3:12.5 , a 4.6 sec improvement - felt like dying with 400m to go but stuck it out - almost even splits of 1:36.3,1:36.2 and my second 900+ Nonathlon score.
