Re: what training have free spirits been doing today?
I have a Garmin chest belt that connects wirelessly to my PM4. Can I use this with the Sporttracks software and, if so, how do I connect to the software? With a PM4 and a Garmin (ANT+ connection) chest belt you already have 2 of 4 things you need. SportTracks 3 (ST3) is #3. The chest belt it self o...

Re: Advice for the very unfit beginner
Boris: No, I'm not sick, just suffering the effects of twenty years' of chronic laziness. According to the formula (207-(0.7*age)) my max heart rate is 179; I haven't measured it with a sprint yet. I personally don't know any person which really fits into the scheme of these formulas. Unfortunately...

Re: what training have free spirits been doing today?
Yesterday I did little "duathlon" session… 6x4242m on slides (with about 1' rest for water intake) @ 74%HRRavg http://i.imgur.com/YmZ3C5x.png?1 ~5-6' rest for changing cloth and drinking some good amount of water (as didn't want to take anything with me) 9.6k as a "sensing run" a...

Re: what training have free spirits been doing today?
So much different members posting in this thread… veeeery nice. Love it! =P~ On static erg I had found my rhythm and could keep it quite stable (even for longer session) . Not so on slides. So my main objective was to work on technique (again) … today's session was: 10k (205W, 74% HRRavg) ...

Re: what training have free spirits been doing today?
Sounds like a busy few days Boris. Yes, it was. After the successful move all the (mental) pressure fell of me and I felt very tired for the last two days, but from today on it's better. :D Hope everything goes well in your new apartment and that you enjoy the freedom of being able to erg when you ...

Re: what training have free spirits been doing today?
Since 14.7. I was occupied mainly our move to our new home (apartment). I did the hole thing mainly by myself – only for things I couldn't handle by myself or which didn't fit into into our van, I engaged a moving company. My workout for this time was… Stooping, lifting, carrying, stairs down, stair...

Re: New toy! (PM5 monitor)
I don't think the battery level indicator is very accurate - I have noticed it down one day and back up the next ....... That's a little bit in the nature of batteries. Without load they recover quite quick and can show up high voltages, which then leads to misinterpretation. Under load then, they ...

Re: New toy! (PM5 monitor)
The factory reset of the PM5 is still holding good which is good news. This is cool. 8) I had bad luck today. As I started my session I checked battery level, which was 86%. I rowed 2x20'. The first 20' was saved without any issue, the second 20' not – it's not on PM5 internal memory and not on USB...

I have had a bad back (but not as bad as sciatica, thankfully) and very stiff hamstring. So most of my rowing has been plodding along with a stiff leg. Re: what training have free spirits been doing today?
Some days ago I bought a hygrometer (it's a fast reacting model) … to get some numbers. Our "erg room" is quite small, has only about 35m3 (1236 cuft) . Today at 10:00 AM I started with a humidity of 42.2% and a temperature of 25.4°C (79°F) . After 2x 20'/90"r and a 5' warmdown...

Re: New toy! (PM5 monitor)
I had issues with favorites in the past. Had a very nice phone call with C2 (USA) . The developer confirmed me, that there's a bug with "Favorites which contain undefined rest " – I used that quite much. It will be fixed with the next release. ^O^ For those who generally issues with their...

Richard, do you use the favorites feature? Means… do you save certain sessions as favorites? If yes, maybe consider to check this one. I had issues with favorites in the past.

Very humid here today Set the alarm for 5:45 - WHAT !!!!! Jogged the mile or so to the gym 1 hour of synchronised sweating whilst sliding up and down on a hard plastic seat on a metal rail holding on to a plastic handle connected to a thin metal chain, that in turn was connected to a fan in...

Re: No Rowing
I was beginning to wonder where you were. Me too. ^O^ Your health and well being are the priority - don't worry about not rowing. When you feel ready, the erg will still be there. As least that's positive Ron; it's not 1 step forward and three steps back. Free Spirits isn't just about rowing - if y...

Re: New toy! (PM5 monitor)
@ Bryce10 & Rob C Are your batteries already down to about 80-85%? I really start to get into trouble (but each of our PM5's creates different issues, even both have same 19.9 firmware installed) on our both rowers, when batteries get into this range of "discharge". Has one of you poss...

Re: what training have free spirits been doing today?
You can say that again! It's unbelievable hot at the moment. I got up early this morning to try and get some rowing in before it gets too hot. I was in the gym by 8:30, but it still turned into a sweatfest. Tried that too, this morning. But hell, on my a usual paced steady state row I rea...
