The Pete Plan etc
I've had a couple of steady UT2 session this week and then did a Rowalong session this morning. I had my second AZ jab on Friday. After the last one I was tired for a couple of weeks and my HR was through the roof as soon as I even sat on the erg, so I was interested to see what happened this time. ...

Re: June ctc - 3 miles / 3‘r / 2 miles / 2‘r / 1 mile, first rep standing start
I’m thinking 10k-3 as a possible pace?? It may be better to ramp up the pace through the intervals given there is a reasonable amount of rest early on, but I’m a believer that the opportunity with these type of CTCs is in the longer intervals, so hitting those hard and hanging on later is probably g...

Re: The Pete Plan etc
I would really struggle to get this done as 28SPM for me would be 3+S / 500m faster than I could currently do a 5k. If I have a go, i think I will ignore the SPM recommendation and go with the pace alone. Iain - to be more precise. The recommended rating for the piece is your 5k rating. I have just...

The Pete Plan etc
Seventh time lucky Iain! =D> =D> I certainly wouldn't have the tenacity to keep having a go after six failed attempts. I am becoming a big fan of the Rowalong Mid Tier rows from the 5k programme. Today's session was 8x3mins 1:30r at r28 with a target pace between 5k+1 and 5K+3. I have not been doing...

Website Update
The software on our server is due for a scheduled update. I will probably do this at some point this week. The site, including forum and Meterboard, will be unavailable during the upgrade, which shouldn't take more than an hour or so.

Well done Ian. It’s a shame we didn’t get to meet up when I was over your way at the Dyson 7s, though I have to say it was a pretty hectic day. Enjoyable though.

Re: Nonathlon 2022
Not a problem at all Paul. I'm glad you find it helpful. Iain asked me to have a look at the average column. There are now two of them. One is the average of all scores. The second (Avg9) drops the lowest score if you have a full set. I have put hover text on the table headings to explain what each ...

Re: Nonathlon 2022
OK folks, it was a lot more work than I had expected, but the Nonathlon Analyser and Metanonathlon are both up and running. Iain already has a full set of scores entered and Chris is not far behind. I have had to change a lot of the code to make it cope with the change of season properly. Please, pl...

Re: Nonathlon 2021
Iain, I have to admit I had not really thought about this, and had missed this debate previously. I have to agree that I agree with you on this. Everyone gets their own benefits and motivation from events like the Nonathlon. For me it has the attraction of some friendly competition, a reminder of wh...

May ctc - 200 seconds, standing start
With other plans for the month I was unsure when I was going to be able to do this. I had a sudden urge as I was meant to be cooling down on the erg after a weights session today #-o I literally gave no thought to this at all. Just sat down after the session and blasted out 3:20 at r34. At the time ...

Re: Injuries.....:(
Well my knee seems to be settling down. It had a real test on Sunday when I returned to refereeing. It was a baptism of fire - an U18 match with two squads of very fit and capable teens. I survived and so did the knee. https://strava.app.link/8hwhkvuNagb I did a steady 3x2.5k yesterday with just a f...

Re: Nonathlon 2022
I will also switch over our Nonathlon tools when I get a chance. They will assume that everyone who did it last year is joining this year. You need to let me know if you are competing for the first time or if you have changed your user name.

I have no idea why this year's and last year's FS icons are appearing. The code to handle them is really quite complex. I'll have a dig at some point.

Kevin, If you hover board over an icon it should tell you. A complete list is at the top of the table. Re: May ctc - 200 seconds, standing start
Considering extending this to 3:45 to hopefully get a 1000m in, but with a split that records the 3:20 time. Do people think that would be OK? Inevitably last 25S will be dying while I flap around trying to maintain my finishing pace, while staying motivated to maximise the distance over the 200S w...

Re: Rowing Apps - What's Hot and what's not
Here is my input to this First the Kit PM5 Wahoo Kickr HR Band iPhone iPad Garmin Fenix 5 Watch The Apps Erg Data I use ErgData for ad hoc "Just Row" style rows which are typically warm-up/cool-down sessions before other activity. ErgData has it's uses. It syncs nicely with the C2 logbook,...

Re: Foot straps and othe questions
There are a lot of people who are far more qualified to comment than I am, however.... I am a UK size 10.5 and row on position 5. I changed from 4 when I read about making sure that the strap is across the widest part of your foot. What I don't know is why that is the correct position. I agree with ...

Re: Injuries.....:(
Typical. In the week where I wanted to get a good start to the season and tick off a HM, and the week where refereeing start again for me I have messed up my knee doing Bulgarian Split Squats! Just dipped and got shooting pains in my right knee, now can’t bend it properly. Referee training cancelled...

Re: Season Change
I've changed my mind on the Nonathlon. For now the data from 2020-21 is still available, so I have stopped the tools (Nonathlon analyser and Metanonathlon) from switching seasons until the Nonathlon itself also switches. To put things simply, you can still view all of the Nonathlon analysis from las...
