Re: CTC Challenge for July

Ah, Dave, have no worries! I still like you. This sport has similarities to childbirth I decided today - whilst debating whether you want to go through with a challenge, there is anxiety. Doing it hurts. Then there is the pleasure that you have done it, it's over. Boat floated, team happy. :f...

Amazing how addictive this game is; I never realised how much I look at the meter board! Thanks for being computer savvy and fixing it Jonathon! =D>

Re: Musical Opinions - add yours here :-)

Just watched a programme about Madeleine Peyroux. I think her stuff is fantastic, and such a great voice. I caught the programme by accident and it's made my day! I'm recording the following programme of a live concert, so tomorrow will be good too! :D

Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?

Stan, you're a sweetheart to think about it. And if I were not a bear of very little brain, who set off on the row totally unprepared, I would have set up 1000m splits... Another time perhaps the old grey matter might kick in. Ever the optimist!

Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?

Just got a new PB for 30mins. - 6882m, 2:10.8 split, 23spm. I don't know where it came from. I only sat at the rower for a warm up and just carried on! BUT... I'll take it anyway!!! :D

Re: Guests for Dinner

Perhaps Jainser and I could get our guests together for a more traditional boy/girl spacing!!! Though whether Stephen Fry would appreciate it..??? Bet he'd be able to see the humour/have a laugh whatever! :)

Re: NEW SEASON WEIGHTLOSS CLUB

Today is one of those milestone days... It's been said that I should let everyone know just what rowing can do for you(!) Well, I've now lost two whole stones. Hurray!!! It has been a steadyish drop since the beginning of March. If I hadn't started rowing (thanks, Plummy) I would not have been able ...

Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?

Thank you guys for acknowledging the 2k pb. Plummy gave me all the right instructions; I'm afraid I just set off too enthusiastically - surprised myself actually! It seems to be my M.O. on new distances. I have managed to negative split sometimes, but it takes so much concentration. Bit much for a b...

Re: Guests for Dinner

Stephen Fry
John Cleese
Alan Titchmarsh
Clint Eastwood
Jonathon Cainer
James Martin

My daughter has pointed out they are all men - a little self indulgent perhaps! I'll get back with my "girls night in" list...
