I decided to go for a check up, just to make sure there was nothing sinister behind the aches and pains. The doctor gave me a full check up, including blood tests and told me there was nothing clinically wrong with me. However, he suggested I see a personal trainer about the various aches and pains,...

However a multi billion pound industry won't let the truth stop profit. Talk about hitting the nail on the head! Unfortunately, the money involved means that there are always going to be people like Charlton Heston who are prepared to be trotted out to spout inanities like "Guns don't kill peo...

"Rowing a marathon's painful"
An old matador said to a bull
which naturally failed to respond
As he swam around the pond
Thinking "life is exceedingly dull"

I'm trying to work out how to get 1000+ calories into my system in about 2 minutes. Given that I want it to be almost pure sugar, rather than fat, that's 250g of sugar, or possibly better 225g sugar and 10g fat. I'll be experimenting at times over the next few weeks to see what's easiest, quickest ...

I tried playing around with my scrabble tiles and the best I came up with was: RISE, OR IF WET, SPRING My son Jonathan then suggested STRIP ROWING IS FREE not much of an anagram, but an interesting concept. However, I think the following would be hard to beat: SWIFT OGRE INSPIRER Take a bo...

[Most of my performances are in top third by MHWT 40-49, but for the marathon I am 85% down the list. Even my most ambitious target was still less than half way up - I guess that kind of endurance requires more distance work than I have put in so far. I found that too with my FM time - I'm much fur...

I think we're straying off the point a bit if we start talking about cross sports people. We only have to look at Andy Ripley to know how well athletic ability can sometimes translate from one sport to another. I imagine many rugby players would make very strong ergers and, as we know, a lot of them...

Thanks everyone for the replies. I've also done some googling on glucosamine and it definitely looks like it's worth trying. I'll try some of the sources suggested by other posters. I saved my worst for last. :(

I just couldn't get going today, struggled to reach 7504 after 30 minutes and eventually finished at 14,658, my lowest 'full on' 60 minutes by a long way. Nothing felt right and I would definitely have handled down if it hadn't part of the 24*7 relay.

Whilst doing the 24x7 I went through 12k 30 seconds faster than my current CTC time......can I log that? :? Thought I'd ask I will be having another go before the end of the month.... I went through similarly quicker, but I'm not going to log it as with the time/distance mix it can only really be a...
