Re: Indoor Rowers League 2017 / 2018
Yes, one (IRC_TITLE) is for all of us free spirits, and the other one (8on8 team name) is for this 10 people team willing to do all the rows of the season. Ok. Thanks. I added my name back to the (IRC_TITLE), but not the (8on8 team name). It looks like we have 9 times entered for the 4', is that ri...

Re: Indoor Rowers League 2017 / 2018
Hey zootMutant, Why did you remove yourself from the Free Spirits IRC in IRC_TITLE? Or even better, just row these 4' and join the 8on8, then we would have a full crew including the 2 Substitutes. I also received a PM from Peter. Very good to hear from you both! I was not planning on competing in t...

Re: Indoor Rowers League 2017 / 2018
So I got a reply from Sebastien. The list is carried over from the last season. In order to leave the list one has to unselect Free Spirits under TEAM_NAME and another team member needs to select Free Spirits under TEAM_NAME. Rodger, I wouldn't want you to leave the list, I'm only concerned about m...

Well done, Alan and David! David -- have you tried Thomas' "pace predictor" to see what that says? I did a couple of HMs -Sunday 1:37:47.4 and this morning at 6am in the gym 1:35:39.6 Managed to do the 4 min challenge on Saturday a pathetic 1118m will have to go again but with all this lon...

Re: 2017 Weight Loss Thread
That's amazing Zoot, very well done [emoji322]. You've lost half of me! I'll race you for the last 4.5kg however I think you're the safer bet. Thanks Sheena! You're on! But I'm not really in a hurry to get anywhere. The changes I've made are changes I intend to keep for the rest of my life. My weig...

I am the dwarf in the middle and Bill is on my right between me and Paul Victory. On your right? Or on the viewer's right? I have met only Dave. Would you please list the participants, say from left to right? It would help. :P Also, I wonder if you could post this in the 'Photos' thread so it will ...

Re: 2017 Weight Loss Thread
Still making steady progress -- only 10 more pounds to go! (4.5 kg) 8) I never would have believed it, but for me it seems like food choices are much more important than exercise when it comes to weight loss. Choose the right foods and I make steady progress... choose the wrong foods and I struggle....

Very sad, indeed. I've missed Bill on this forum the past few years... his sense of humour... his drive... and his compassion. My heart goes out to his family.

Re: what training have free spirits been doing today?
Thanks Erik, Dave, and Tako! In spite of promises to myself, completed another FM this morning (arrived sufficiently early to the gym to avoid any judging eyes). Couldn't get comfortable this time, and I read my film choices ('Lady in a van' and 'What we did on our holiday') were not exactly high en...

Re: September ctc - 6k unrestricted
Hi all, team Oarsome have announced the ctc for September: 6000m, unrestricted (from a standing start of course) Exactly what I need! Very happy about this one. Thankfully not another sprint session! In terms of pacing I'd recommend current 6k pace :D You're a funny man, Peter.

Re: what training have free spirits been doing today?
I hope to be posting regularly in this thread for a while. 8-[ My elbow is 100% healed; my back seems to be 100% healed; and I hope my neck is 100% healed. My current plan (which will probably change tomorrow) is to complete 6 weeks of UT2 general rowing (heart-rate capped at 136), followed by 6 wee...

Re: July ctc - 4k pyramid / 1'r per 250m rowed
Very impressive results, everybody! (Good to know you've been carrying on in my absence :P ) Wasn't sure at all how to pace this, so I chose a conservative 2:04 as my target pace. 16:24.5 -- 2:03.0 250 2:03.2 30 500 2:04.4 28 750 2:04.5 28 1000 2:04.4 29 750 2:03.8 29 500 2:00.9 32 250 1:52.6 36 Che...
