Re: Indoor Rowers League 2021-22

Jon, Not sure how many members you have for the team, and I’m very late to the party, but am happy to join in if there’s a space. I’ve registered on the IRL website and will post a 4 min row in the next couple of days so I’m ready if required. Rich, can you join please? We are one short. You just n...

Re: Indoor Rowers League 2021-22

It’s probably better if I drop out. Back problems not getting any better and I have not been near an erg this month. I went onto the website just now, but there doesn’t seem to be an option to withdraw from an 8x8 team. Is there someone we can contact to arrange for me to be taken off the team? I’m...

Re: Indoor Rowers League 2021-22

I'm here Jon 👋👋 Can I just log in the same as last season ?? Deep into a strength programme. Haven't been keeping up with my Concept log 😔 Kevin, you can login using the same profile as last year, then edit your profile and set your team to Free Spirits. You should then show as a team member if you...

Re: Indoor Rowers League 2021-22

After a couple of weeks off the ergo, struggling with my back, I have put in a token score. We still only have 7 registered rowers, and now have 5 registered scores: Philip Price - aboard and rowed Peter Weiss - ?? Kevin Horner - ?? Mat Leonard - aboard and rowed Louise Allcock - aboard Jon Taylor -...

Re: Indoor Rowers League 2021-22

Only just seen this, and happy to help if you're in need of a rower. I think the team looks full already, though, so no worries if that's true. In theory we have a full team Mike. Having said that only seven people have registered with the team so far on the website, and just four have posted an en...

Re: Fall Team Challenge

.....and here is how we currently stand. s you can see, we seem to have got off to a fairly slow start, rowing about half the average daily meters as we did last year, but it's early days and some people enter meters in a fairly "lumpy" way which means there may be some catch-up in the pip...

Fall Team Challenge

Just a reminder that the Fall Team Challenge is up and running. You need to join the challenge on the team page for any meters to count towards our totals. The Meterboard icon is up and running and I hope to get the normal challenge analyser working later today. Row strong and long! Jon P.S. I am a ...

No problem Richard. Glad we sorted it out. As ever I learned something about how the meterboard works at the same time.

Don't know why but I seem to have dropped off the meterboard completely. I know I haven't rowed much this year but to expunge me completely seems a little harsh    Richard, you appear not to be affiliated to Free Spirits -> https://log.concept2.com/affiliation/1397/season/2022?type=r...

Re: Music - Covers that are better than the Originals

Like Someone in Love by Bjork has always blown me away - it quite frequently reduces me to tears! Original recording was Bing Crosby I think, but there have been hundreds, and no doubt there will be hundreds more. The rumour is she recorded it staning in the middle of a street. I assume the harpist ...

Re: New rower with high hopes and room for growth

Hello Charon and welcome to the group. It looks like the group has been quite quiet since your original post. It's great to hear how enthusiastic you are right at the start of your rowing adventure. It's very difficult to judge your time because, as you imply, most people who row seriously, includin...

Re: The Pete Plan etc

Odd one for me today. I did a RowAlong “recovery” row which was 35mins @ 2k+18. I normally use HR zones for recovery rows and stay on UT2. This one took me deep into UT2 and was probably +2 or 3 higher than my normal recovery pace. I certainly felt less recovered at the end of it. Any thoughts? http...

Re: Indoor Rowers League 2021-22

Just a quick question... Is it usual for there to be a delay between uploading results and seeing them appear on the rankings? I've input my result a couple of times this morning but it still doesn't show. I did have problems registering initially (seemed to go through but then didn't let me sign i...

The Pete Plan etc

Well done all for keeping this thread, and your training going. I have been doing steady sessions at r22-22 and so had nothing to report really. Today I tried the RowAlong 40min push pace row from the 10K plan.....with some trepidation. This is 10x4min starting at r18 and 2K+25 pace. The pace increa...

I have asked Sebastien (who runs the league) to clear out the original Free Spirits team in the competition. We can then go back to using that. The event has started now, but we still have until then end of the month to register team members and for people to register a distance for the 4 minute eve...
