Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?

And here was me hoping for a suspended sentence!!! Oh well, the sentence certainly fits the crime 😂. It shall be done within the next 14 days.

You're a nasty man Max!! [-X Let Lesley have her PB. =D> Lesley, Very impressive to break a PB during that session =D> =D> =D> . Your honour I plead not guilty. In my defence I did congratulate Lesley on her PB. I am however happy to accept the lesser charge of gross mischievousness .

Re: World Rowing Indoor Championships 2020

Having found the results I couldn't resist looking up my category. Circa 60 entrants which is amazing and as I wouldn't have troubled the top 20 I've no major regrets. Much more importantly I looked up a certain Mr G Blackburn. Congratulations on your 5th and 6th place =D> =D> =D> . http://www.world...

Re: World Rowing Indoor Championships 2020

I had hoped to enter as I think the world championships sound a bit special. Unofficially I set myself a target time of 6:48 because in some previous years that was good enough to make the top 10 (M Hwt 50-54). But last year's training didn't go to plan and after my poor showing at the Scottish cham...

World Rowing Indoor Championships 2020

The world championships are being held today and tomorrow, the 7th and 8th of February in Paris. As far as I'm aware it's the first time the championships (or the CRASH Bs) have been held in Europe so I hope there is a great turn out with lots of new records. It's being live streamed on YouTube if y...

Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?

Lesley, Very impressive to break a PB during that session =D> =D> =D> . I'm guessing that you are referring to the Concept 2 rule that states records must be "Single distance or timed pieces (no interval pieces)." It also wouldn't show under your Lifetime Bests on the History page. To remo...

Of course, June's CTC. How could I forget! Your pace @1:48.6 is an impressive 2.8s faster =D> =D> =D> . Not sure I can match that improvement which would mean 1:36.7. As always the only real way to find out is to give it a go which hopefully I will do this week.

Re: February ctc - 12 x 60‘‘/60“r

Hi Iain, Good question and as Plummy had a go yesterday hopefully he'll have the answer. My current guesstimates are... 1. A recent 6x1.5mins r1 was @1:38.3. As it's the end of each interval that's tough and with the benefit of rolling starts I wonder if reducing to 1min and doubling the intervals m...

Re: Indoor Rowers League 2019/2020

Well done everyone, lots of very impressive results. Unfortunately this month mine wasn't my best. 336m (adjusted 344m) which is 4m less than last year. At the start the erg was jumping around a lot and I never really recovered. Perhaps I'd set the drag too high at 180 but on the positive side I kep...

Re: January CTC - 1k 2r/520m 1r/500m

Jon, Great write up! I've not done much rowing this month and it showed. Was hoping for 1:40 (1:42 then 2 lots of 1:38) but it didn't go to plan. The first interval was 1:41.4 and any hope of that being good news disappeared half way through the next interval. I was seriously tempted to HD but as I ...

Re: Meta-nonathlon 2019/2020

Thanks Roger, you picked the perfect time for an update :D. It would be nice to be all green by the end of the season but not sure how long I will be able to hold 2nd place. If Colin fills in the blanks he will rocket straight to the top and there's no chance of me catching Philip. So it looks like ...

Re: Nonathlon 2020

On the 12th day of Christmas my true love (also known as the erg) gave to me... 872 nonathlon points and an equal PB!

500m in 1:32.3 so a grand total of 8,112 points. A great way to start the year .

Not sure if I was in before but I am now . Is this a new challenge because I can't find a topic from last year to see how we did? Or is this the 2020 version of the World Erg Challenge last March where we were 4th.

Re: Nonathlon 2020

10k today in 37:27.1 @1:52.3 which is worth 904 points. That means I'm on 7,240 points with only the 500m to go. So I need at least 860 points which means a time of 1:33.6 or better. Last year I managed 867 points so its going to be tight! Year.......2018....2019 500........867 1k..........871.........
