Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?

Hey Mardix, congratulations for your PBs. Did read (and understood fully) your post. Think, I can't express adequate how impressive your progress is. Well done. Kudos! Thank you, but I really don't see it as much of anything. It's been such slow progress with so many setbacks that I just can't see ...

Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?

After the 1402m row yesterday and the relatively fast pace that I set for myself, I decided to have a go at 500 and 1000 meters. I came in at 1:46 (30 spm) and 1:50 (28 spm), so things are definitely on the mend. I usually row at DF 100 but brought it up to 120 for these and it didn't feel half bad....

Re: Lifetime Millionaires Club

Sidenote: Of course there's no need to do a single 6m workout, because when you really get addicted you'll see/track it way before. But in the case of any sort of "mistake", I would do the 6m session before my regular workout, upload first the 6m workout, make the screenshot and then uplo...

Thanks. I ran the test and my download speed was 6.09 Mbps, but my upload speed was only 0.35 Mbps. They are supposed to be rolling out a super fast fibre optic service in the near future, bu...

I then went out to my home gym, which is just beyond range for my home wifi and the remaini...

Re: Carole McNally Memorial CTC

Okay, so first attempt ended in 5:20 (1:54). I haven't rowed under 2:00 at any distance in a long time and I wasn't going to even attempt to do it this time - there's just something about a challenge that makes me throw caution to the wind, I suppose. Once started I decided to see if I could get to ...

Just a quick reminder that this takes place tomorrow in honour of the late Carole McNally, who was a larger than life character who broke a number of world records and had enormous enthusiasm for the sport. The challenge is a straight 1402m to be entered on the CTC website tomorrow.... Okay, so thi...

Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?

Came in at 4888 (2:03), but I didn't want to push too hard quite yet - I've been keeping things slow for such a long time that I was a little unsure about pace. My goal was 2:05 but my back felt good so I pushed a little more than I initially planned. After your initial introduction a very very res...

Re: Do any Free Spirits row on slides (or on a dynamic erg)

Some feedback after 4 hours on slides… Slides are not that "sprinty", compared to the Dynamic, but definitely more "sprinty" than the stationary erg is. On the stationary I can't row with high SPM's (everything higher than 25-26 is horrible for me). On my one day intermezzo with...

Re: Do any Free Spirits row on slides (or on a dynamic erg)

If you value your back and you have the space for them (big footprint!), you should buy the slides. Great reply, thanks Greg. I'm not sure that I value my back, or at least, if I was to give it a value, it would be on a K-Mart blue light special (sorry, not sure that joke translates outside the U.S...
