Re: Millionaires club-Season

Looking ahead, I will only be able to look after this thread until the end of the season. Jill, I'm sorry to hear that you are having a tough time at the moment. It certainly is a grim time for many. Like many others, I greatly enjoy your updates to this thread. If you want to keep going then that ...

Re: NOVEMBER 2020 - CTC

My thinking on this is that the rest after the first interval should allow this to be done pretty fast (although not all out), got stung on 3' intervals today, they are tougher than you would think. Thinking 2k-1 perhaps for that with 2' maybe 2k-3 for first and try and better that for the second a...

I was pushing along through this at 2k-2 and was just about hanging on when, half way through interval 4 (ie having done the hard bits), the PM5 reset itself. Temper tantrum ensued!

Re: PM5 problems

I would drop a note to Concept2. Their support team are really good.

If you keep the batteries out and start rowing does the PM5 come to life? What Model are you using by the way?

Re: Indoor Rowers League 20/21

Some pretty heroic stuff going on here to get us a full boat. Thanks to everyone =D> =D> We currently sit in 9th, an improvement of one place thanks to our score being marginally better than last month, and one of the Fitness Matters teams slipping back a little. It may be a different picture tomorr...

Re: The Pete Plan

That's a solid 30min CTC spidermac. Maybe you should have queued for that wall given it looks like it will be closed for a month from Thursday  I had a go at the 4x2000m today. I found it incredibly difficult and I'm still feeling the effects 8 hours later. Definitely an unscheduled rest day t...

Re: PM5 problems

I have one and have not had any problems. It may be worth doing a firmware upgrade just to eliminate that as a possible issue, that will also force a complete restart of the PM5 which may also help if it has got itself into a mess. Do you keep a USB stick plugged in to it all the time? That has also...

Tapatalk upgrade

Just a warning to Tapatalk users. I need to upgrade Tapatalk on the forum. This means Tapatalk support will stop working for a while at some point over the weekend. Given I have never done this before, the outage could be quite long.....let’s just hope that doesn’t mean forever [emoji51] Sent from m...

Re: Indoor Rowers League 20/21

I received a copy of the report he sent to my GP today. He says that my “lumbar spine scan revealed spondylosis as one might expect however there was no evidence of neural impingement. His cervical spine scan revealed loss of the normal lordosis and there was foraminal stenosis on the right side at...

Re: The Pete Plan

I had by first ever attempt at the speed pyramid today. I had no idea about pacing. My SB 2k is 1:52, so I figured an average below 1:53 would be a good target and I would try to sprint through the final half of the session if at all possible. Time Meters Pace Watts S/M HR 14:46.8 4,000m 1:50.8 257 ...

Re: Indoor Rowers League 20/21

I've been doing practically no erging as I was waiting to see a back specialist. I've now met him and he doesn't feel that surgery is appropriate, but recommends physiotherapy. The good news is that he says there's no reason for me not to row. The bad news is that my wallet is now significantly lig...

Re: NOVEMBER 2020 - CTC

I suggest a good warm up, and maybe several goes to understand the exact pacing required :-) I'm rubbish at guestimating the pace of these things. But given the distances and the 2 min rests. I am thinking 2k-2 maybe, or 1k pace? Of course you are right Steve, the only way to find out is to have a ...

Re: Indoor Rowers League 20/21

Well lads, I put mine in this morning. Last year I did it at 2:06.9. The Free Spirits pace predictor reckoned I could do it at 2:06.1 based on recent 4 min and 30 min efforts for the IRL/CTC. Managed it at 2:05.4 so pretty sure I couldn’t have gone faster... For the record, I don’t enjoy these shor...

Re: The Pete Plan

1500/1000/500/1000/1500m session at r22/24/26/24/22 as the “hard” session of the week. Not unhappy with that given I had no idea about pace. HR was relatively controlled and increase in pace correlated with increase in rating. Nailed the ratings too [emoji51] Not sure if this really counts as a hard...

Thanks for the pointers chaps. I'll start to experiment with a higher rating and see how it goes. Maybe I won't blow up after all! [-o< [-o< If all goes to plan I will be on a "Hard distance" session this lunchtime. I'm thinking a 2000/1500/1000/1500/1000 rating pyramid will do the job, th...
