Re: Training towards a 6:20 2k

That's very kind Paul, still compared to those of a similar height, weight and age, not as good as it could be. Mind you, not all my KGs are working for me :fswink:

Thanks Steve :fswink:
I'm sure there'll be some kind basal activities ongoing 8)

Re: Training towards a 6:20 2k

Wow, quiet here, perhaps I'm not the only one suffering from a serious lack of Mojo!? I think I've had a lingering post viral lethargy, either this or the rapidly fading sunlight not aiding the situation! After a ten day break, I've done the odd low rate 40 minute piece, no great pace, but then felt...

Re: Training towards a 6:20 2k

I'm very impressed you can train whilst abroad on business Andrew, that takes some serious Mojo ^O^ Now you've found the key to the hurt locker Jason, you won't be able to close it, you've certainly taken it up a notch =D> Don't go scaring those poor gentle Northeners now [-X  Tuesday evening l...

Re: Training towards a 6:20 2k

Exciting progress Andy, sub 6:20 is really not so far away, perhaps a few weeks (?6) of hard training and you'd be there for sure :?: Great to see you in such a rich vein of form Andrew! 35:19 is a very fine result. Training in the new gym Jason is obviously going very well. Living in your new home ...

Re: October Feast 5k.

Nice idea Jason, good luck for lunchtime today! I like challenges, though often struggle to do fit them in sometimes without losing track of training goals. I'm in awe of Erik in his ability to seemingly enter nearly every challenge, and do so well every time! This said, I did a 5K last month and wa...

Re: Training towards a 6:20 2k

Nice of you to drop in Dave, this is all getting too exciting, another Madchester potentially back in the pipelines, and a great presence at EIRC, plus everyone coming together on the thread at once ^O^ ^O^ :fswink: Good to see you back after your 'holiday' Eric, and despite the break still very fas...

Re: Training towards a 6:20 2k

Well done Andy, that's a fine row, especially given your other fast stuff lately... Getting your new training kicked off to a marvelous start :fswink: I suspect you'll be returning to this one, I notice you've not entered into the ctc site yet.... You would be leading the field I think, very close t...

Re: Training towards a 6:20 2k

Well done Andy, nice row.... You are certainly forgiven, it's always good to have stronger competition, especially in the knowledge that at 6ft9 you could reduce your long distance times considerably, especially in light of this result with low training. Volumes. All is forgiven.....and we maybe exp...

Re: Training towards a 6:20 2k

OK Erik - sounds like ITS ON I reckon we could put together a superb sprint team, except five people for four seats .... some competition for the seat and a standby always very useful though! As posted on FB, I did a 5K today since I didn't have much time before work. I've been painting metal, this ...

Re: Training towards a 6:20 2k

Thanks Alan and Erik! I had not taken note of Erik's time, so was not aiming when I commenced sprinting, of any predefined target :^o :^o  I am aware there are a good few days of the month left, and of Erik's history in attempting (and often improving) multiple entries :fswink: I knew Sjoerd's ...

Re: Training towards a 6:20 2k

Very kind comments Andrew, thanks. I've recently developed a method of pushing myself pretty close the redline but without paying too much attention to the pace. The difference between relative comfort and pain is a narrow one. If I try and sustain a prescribed pace, on either shorter rows or longer...

Re: Training towards a 6:20 2

Ctc row today. I've had some extra late shifts with work which had me on my knees with energy so three rest days. I was going to take two but then picked up a mild stomach bug from my daughter. Not feeling too good this morning, but aware of the month end drawing closer, I attempted the JvB ctc row....

Re: Training towards a 6:20 2k

Well done on your SB Mikkel. Great to have you back on the thread Jason, and Andrew, you're welcome to post as far as I'm concerned whichever virtual team you belong to. It's a pretty laid back group Freespirits. It's a pretty small community of indoor enthusiasts generally and certainly Facebook is...

I must attempt the c2c soon though, which might need two attempts to get close to being right. I've not recorded...

Sorry Roger, I've tied myself up there  #-o We're all crazily evangelistic about our sport, and any unsuspecting individual who half takes an interest in rowing machines tends to get the strongest of encouragement! Potential Recruit!

One of the ladies at work has been dabbling with rowing in her Cross Fit pursuits, she managed a 3:50 for a 1K and this is unconditioned and she said sub maximal  I reckon she's got something re rowing if able to do that with little specific training or preparation, what would anyone else say...

I really ought to get out and enjoy these beautiful autumna...

Re: Training towards a 6:20 2k

Sorry to hear about your cat Erik, the inevitability of the loss at that good age doesn't make things any easier. Good you still have a younger cat to console one another. It sounds like you've been mixing your training very nicely with a good translation of speed over to both cycling and your runni...
