Re: New toy! (PM5 monitor)
Hi Greg, I'm toying with the idea of being given a PM5 for my upcoming birthday :) We're currently using a log card and concept2 utility do upload all our rows (and save them to spreadsheet on our PC), and would probably not be using ergdata for all routine training sessions. So we'd probably still ...

Re: Madchester 2016 - is ON!
Hi Plummy,
If there's space for 2 more, then me and my wife Sheena would like to come along. Either weekend would be fine.
It's only a short trip across the M62 for us, and we could bring our erg if that's helpful.
We could also bring some doughnuts if Jill will allow it

Re: Carole McNally Memorial CTC
Must admit I had never heard of Carole before, but it looks she was an inspirational lady.
Liked the picture of her rowing with a broken leg in pink plaster:

Re: Carole McNally Memorial CTC
Well done Peggy! You gave Sheena (my wife) a challenging target to aim for, and she managed to get into boat 1 (she's now thinking of improving her own 2k PB next). Now that gave me a problem, to be in the same boat as her on Valentine's Day I had to row a lot quicker than I had planned (was plannin...

Correct, guess a lot of people (me included) have been listening to his music over the last week.

Re: January ctc - 5000m straight
You folks are quite agile boat-jumpers! I did manage to jump, but wouldn't call it agile :( Went out on a pace just under 20 minutes, had my usual dip between 3k and 3.5k, and then speeded up again for an end spurt in the last 500m - so mission accomplished :) I think my problem with this challenge...

Re: January ctc - 5000m straight
Hi Jon, Glad to have been of assistance (although only virtual) - and well done for that row, I can't take all the credit  Hope that Trevor will be able to push you further up the rankings. Since you've now pushed me out of my boat I might have to do another attempt this afternoon. I've been st...

Re: January ctc - 5000m straight
With a challenge like this (5k) it's always tempting to try to improve your PB. However I was going to be sensible and aim for a time just below 20 minutes. All that changed when I noticed that Alan had posted a time that was around my PB time. I just couldn't help myself and started off at an optim...

Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?
Last weekend I replaced the seat rollers on our rower, and decided to try a 6k PB. I was pleasantly surprised with the result - managed to knock 22 seconds off my time, now just above 24 minutes. Not sure whether it had anything to do with the rollers, but it probably helped at least psychologically...

Re: Nonathlon 2016
Thanks Stan, think we're still improving. Probably will need to do a marathon though for any marked improvement in my score - not looking forward to that ... Jon, thanks for your welcome, I had the short pleasure of being ahead of you in the CTC but I see you've already rectified that situation :( N...

Re: Nonathlon 2016
Hi Stan, My wife Sheena and myself have joined Free Spirits this year, and have started to row in the CTC and keep track of our progress in the Nonathlon listing. I have just persuaded Sheena to row the two short distances today (which she doesn't like), so we've now both got a full set of 9 scores....
