A "yes - to race" for me.
Everything about it is a positive. Can't think of a singular negative aspect.
Would like to see more of our lady Free Spirits entering.

12 months ago my magic numbers were 6:59 for 2k & sub 19 for 5k
They are now 6:40, and sub 18 :o
Those times seemed soooo far away this time last year
They still are far away, but just maybe obtainable
I also still have the sub 3 hour FM to crack (only done 1 of course!).

Excellent going Richard, probably sooner than you may have thought. But most of us quickly recognised that you have some really good times in you.
Congratulations, and I look forward to watching you sail (row?) by on your steep improvement curve

I always do both, but I'm lucky I can do my workouts at home.
If I had to squeeze a session in at a gym I'm pretty sure they would be compromised.

Hhmm, small independant gig report on Mrs Winehouse -- Rubbish! Her support finished somewhere around 8.30. Amy came on stage at a ridiculous 9:45! Very clearly drunk (unless she always staggers about?). The sound was shocking, and we could not understand a word she was singing. Her band seem...

Makes sense. My thoughts then would be that you are reasonably fit strength wise, but maybe a little short aerobically. Which is what I certainly was also. Longer, steady paced rows will improve this. As will just logging more and more meters as you continue to use the erg more frequently than you u...

I was told that the foot position is important, and can make a difference.
Bottom line is, your shins should ideally be at 90 degrees to the rail at the catch (whilst being "comfortable" too). Moving the footplate influences this.

If it's on 10 you can afford to bring it down. Measure the df so it's around 135-140. You can do this easily on a PM3 or 4 by follow...
