Doris the 2k World Champion

Put in a 6:50.1 for 2k this morning. Very pleased with myself - a lot better than expected giving my weight and level of fitness (compared to my previous 2k times, this was my 4th best) However after a bit of nosing around the C2 web site I realised that 6:50.1 would in fact make me the World Champi...

Re: Drunk in charge of a rower!!

Good effort  At least falling off an erg is hard to do - not sure I'd be game to try an OTW row after a few drinks!! I'm sure I read somewhere that alcohol as an energy source is the easiest / quickest for the body to utilise and so it is burnt first before carbs etc are used so maybe it h...

Drunk in charge of a rower!!

Went to the clubby straight after work today (2pm) and slotted a few away. Reet (the better half) finishes work at 5 so asked her to pick me up on route and take me home. Now after 3 hours drinking and not much eating I was leaning well into the wind. So for what ever reason (never happened before) ...

Re: 2013 Weight Loss Thread

Been really struggling lately with my weight - slowly creeping up and its now time to act!! I'm going to try Weight Watchers now - problem is with me is I need to follow rules - I can't just diet off my own back so to speak - I'm good for a week or two then the cracks start to show and before you kn...

Re: Heart Monitors

I know I'm a bit late, but worth noting that since 2006 I've had two belts only. Both Polar. One died because the battery was not replaceable. The current one is slowly getting more stretchy so I have to move the clip (maybe I'm getting thinner ) but I can replace the elastic easy enough. The ...

Re: March CTC 920m

I wish I had set the machine for 1K as would have a new SB by now. Always next time! G No, because then you would have waited a little longer with your finishing sprint, and you time for the 920m would have been less good. I thought I should have done the same. After the row I too "thought&quo...

Hit a personal target today and did 5 miles (8054m) in 30 minutes. Was very hard, a lot harder than it used to be but I did it so I can do it again!

Well had another crack and sorted my pacing out and clocked in at 2:58.6

Rather odd though although the time is quicker my HR was slightly less?

That's it though the tanks where well and truly emptied!!!!

Nope it didn't end they cancelled it after 3 series - very frustrating (although to be fair it did get a little weird towards the end)

Re: Weight training advice

I would say doing the bigger muscle groups together would be best. Chest, shoulders and back. And the smaller ones together. Bicep and tricep. You can do Abs nearly everyday. What i used to do is do them all on the same day but only 3 times a week.Mon, Wed and Friday. 1. Chest 2. Back 3. Shoulders ...
