Re: The Pete Plan
Still doing this intermittently, 4x1500m 4R up today: 5:30.0 1500 1:50.0 29 5:30.1 1500 1:50.0 29 5:29.1 1500 1:49.7 29 5:26.6 1500 1:48.8 29 21:55.8 6000 1:49.6 29 Did it last time in average 1:51.3 so pretty good improvement but felt quite hard and was difficult to go fast on the last rep.

Re: July CTC - The scorpion
2nd attempt at this today, thought I would really go for it on the short intervals and not worry too much about the 2k until I was doing it: 1:39.0 500 1:39.0 32 1:18.4 400 1:38.0 32 0:59.0 300 1:38.3 33 0:39.0 200 1:37.5 32 0:18.8 100 1:34.0 32 7:06.3 2000 1:46.5 28 12:00.4 3500 1:42.9 31 Slightly ...

Re: August CTC - Free Spirits to choose challenge
The mile is also my first choice. As Paul says, I think we should be trying to maximise participation and this could be not too long, not too short but just right
Also, it doesn't seem to be done that much so everyone might have a chance at getting a new PB!

Re: July CTC - The scorpion
Had a go at this today and wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, sort of like a slightly evil Pete Plan session. Paced it a bit like Paul describes although I think 2k-5 might be a bit optimistic or maybe it was just too hot today. 1:41.8 500 1:41.8 32 1:21.7 400 1:42.1 32 1:00.9 300 1:41.5 32 40....

Yes, it's the 5k plan. I can't fit in six sessions a week but I'll just go at my own pace and see what happensgregsmith01748 wrote:12x500. Whew, that's a lot of intervals. Is that a Pete's 5K Plan session?

Re: The Pete Plan
Back on The Plan today after messing about trying to update PB's for the last few weeks. Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?
Well done Jon, always nice to get a new PB! =D> =D> =D> I also had a go at the 1000m. The gym I train at has wooden floors and when I tried this last time the erg was sliding all over the place which didn't really help my time. Since then they have secured the ergs so theoretically should be able to...

Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?
Had a go at the 5k today but was not very hopeful when starting out - had tentatively tried yesterday and just couldn't handle the pace and paddled in. I figured it must be psychological as I'd beaten my 5k pace when setting a time for the CTC at the beginning of the month (and now regret not doing ...

Re: June CTC - Le Mont Blanc (4810m)
I guess it's all about participation. I would prefer the rower was set up per the challenge on the CTC and that result posted but if it means more people post times if it's a pro rata time then that's ok with me

Re: June CTC - Le Mont Blanc (4810m)
I think the difference is that the pro rata scores for the nonathlon is just a way of getting some scores on the board - not many people are going to do a FM and nothing else and most people will work their way through the ranking distances and set proper times. The CTC is a one off challenge so pro...

Rower of the Day: Phil Cunningham
I don't know if anyone else spotted this or knows who he is but Phil Cunningham is the rower of the day on the c2 website :o For those of us in Scotland (and perhaps the rest of the UK but I'm not sure), Phil is a well known face on television at Hogmanay playing his accordion alongside Aly Bain on ...

Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?
Managed to beat my HM PB today: 1:27:33.8 @ 2:04.5 25 SPM I think I could probably go a bit quicker than this but my motivation at the start was just to finish and to keep a steady tempo. The main problem was pain up my legs and bum from being in the one position for so long, I'm not sure if this is...

Re: The Pete Plan
Steady distance day, 10k in 39:52.0. Not sure if this is a bit too fast for this session but it felt alright 10 seconds slower than you PB in your signature is a lot quicker than steady pace. Should probably grab another PB soon then  and also slow down the steady distance pace a bi...
