Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?

Hi everybody, with the memory of Evesham freshly in my mind I wanted to keep the momentum and had a closer look at my 1k PB (3:23.1) tonight. Saturday I had pulled a 1:42.1 split for the mile, so I hoped for a pace around 1:40 for 1k. First 3k w/u, then set up the PM3 to 500m intervals (just very cl...

Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?

Thank you Alan and sorry for having beaten you :D Should we meet in Grimsby again I'm pretty sure you will be faster. You're better looking and have a training advantage of 15 years  Jason, your row was excellent and great to watch! 8 seconds faster in that speed-region is an immense increase ...

Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?

Well done Trish on your new PB! =D> What a great way to start the day! Great to have met you at Evesham! Despite from meeting many Free Spirits in person I also had the pleasure of a new PB by 10.8 seconds for the mile with now 5:28.6 (old: 5:39.4). Beeing cheered up and coached by FSers surely help...

Re: Evesham ?

Good evening, I think I'm the last one to get home finally. Arrived one hour ago, unpacked everything and started my computer. Well, I have to say, it was a great weekend! I really enjoyed putting faces to names and to learn to know many Free Spirits I had been in contact with before, but only virtu...

Re: Evesham ?

P.S. OMG - I am in the same race as Wolfie, Ironar$e and Peter. that's going to be messy as I fly and die and trail in 20 seconds behind them all. Seems we are five Free Spirits in that race: http://www.concept2.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=18579&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=195 I ha...

Jason, Pete Marston said he would buy me a pint if i beat him. :o I think his pint is safe, this year. you entered the erging business one year ago, PM did that eight years ago. Your career has been extremely successful, your 2k PB is just 15 seconds away from PM's. Next year the pint is yo...

Hi Steve,

my plan is to do another 8x500 session today and then no rowing until saturday. That would give me three days rest before the race on late saturday. I hope that will help.

I'll arrive at Evesham already on friday by around 13.00 hrs. If any Free Spirit lives in or near Evesham I'd be happy to meet for a chat or coffee or dinner or beer etc.

Re: The Pete Plan

Hi Iain, Nice improvement. As for a plan, rather you than me, don't you find that a tough short interval session is still in your legs the next day? At least yesterday's session felt nice with the 4x1k of the day before in my legs. But as soon as I'm feeling tired by overtraining I'll change to norm...

Hi Wolfie, Good progress Peter, now you will be in a little dilemma at what pace to pick next Saturday as you are on that improvement curve =D> yes, that's a tricky queston indeed! Thank you Bill for updating the list. 1600 hrs race time sounds nice, I hate racing in the morning! Or do I have to row na...

Re: The Pete Plan

Textbook pacing and a strong finish, well done Wolfie! What time are you expecting at Evesham? Had a go at the 4x1k session tonight. The last one was nearly 3 1/2 months ago, so high time for a new one. Like with my 8x500 session I added 3 seconds to old target pace to start with: Last time (march 2...
