Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?
Completely exhausted after a 30min attempt at the SB which ended up with a PB 7562 up from 7547. I didn't actually know what my PB was as I was rowing, since the SB was the target I had set myself  New Max HR reading on top of that. I seriously doubt I could have rowed a single stroke more.......

Re: October CTC - The Joan Van Blom Star Spangled Banner
This is why I love Freespirits - it gives me all kinds of ways too keep motivated. I was languishing in Boat V at 4148 and set off this morning determined to move up a boat if at all posible. Sorry Plummy but you were my target. Your average of 1:47.5 gave me a target to aim for in every interval. I...

How did it end? I lookd this morning but the results have already gone, and I can't see a way of seeing past events. Last time I looked, Plummy was all alone in a FS IV

26 September: 7684m JVB memorial CTC row
Ironically, mine is the first entry for Free Spirits with a somewhat pathetic 31:45.7. This has temporarily put us at the top of the standings! Since I am the only boat member and the boat average is higher than the keen teams who have more rowers in already.
Enjoy it while it lasts.

I've not had any of the symptoms described on the link, but I have a "Rev A" battery door so I've taken a free replacement. Thanks for posting this, I would never have seen it myself.

Re: August CTC - Free Spirits to choose challenge
Finally, after more than a month with my erg in storage (along with all my belongings), and just in the nick of time for the challenge, I got my baby back!! This was never going to be pretty. I jumped straight on and threw myself into the challenge. How bad could it be after all #-o Pretty bad! I st...

Re: August CTC - Free Spirits to choose challenge
Anyway, we now have two boats floated and we're only 5 days into the month. I know that an important part of our ethos is that we don't push people to do anything they don't want to do, but an email to all members from Cap'n Stan at some stage during the month reminding members this we se...

Re: what training have free spirits been doing today?
That's the main issue Boris. I'm not really living anywhere right now. Just borrowing space until we can move into our new home (hopefully next month). Thanks for the offer - if things get desparate I'll buy a ticket and come over to visit. I can try the Ski Erg out too!dr3do wrote:Where do you live now?

Re: what training have free spirits been doing today?
What training have I been doing today? Absolutely none. I have moved out of my house but don't have a new one to move in to. I lost the argument that the C2 should be on the list of items that we keep out of storage until our new house is available :( So the erg is in a crate in storage with all my ...

Re: New toy! (PM5 monitor)
It struck me while rowing today and thinking about all the PM5 problems that it's odd that Concept are developing new features which they are beta testing when they clearly haven't actually ironed out the problems with the product as it stands today. Doesn't feel like they have their priorities righ...

Things I now know (in reverse order of relevance). It was hot  Turns out I was dehydrated before I even started - very apparent after a few minutes #-o That is a pig of a row. My pacing was dire. I am rowing a fraction of what I managed last year, and it is starting to show  The r...

Re: New toy! (PM5 monitor)
That the beta's keep getting revised indicates they are working on something. They are working on a new version of the ErgData app which will upload far more to the online logbook. I only know this because I have been asked to beta test the app too, but the combination of the fact that none of your...

This looks horrendous. How on earth do you pace this?

Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?
An accidental PB for me yesterday. Bored during a heart-rate, intervals session I decided to post a 1,000k time to improve my Nonathlon scorre which was pro-rated from a 2,000k time. I didn't really expect to do anything special other than improve my Nonathlon total, but i ended up with a time of 3:...

I thought the battery was only used when you weren't rowing.dr3do wrote:Seems the backlightning, Bluetooth connection to my phone and the ANT+ connection to my watch chews up a lot of battery.
Seems a bit odd to have to replace batteries when they are still 80% charged.

Famous last words below
Every time I insert the USB in my PM5 I get a message saying "Low battery. USB will not function". The trouble is the batteries are only a few months old and show at 67% on the PM5 battery utility.
Has anyone else seen this

Re: Anyone had any SEASON's bests recently?
I am an idiot. I decide to do a 10k today. I haven't been doing as much rowing as normal so had a quick look at the pace of my PB just as a guide rather than a target. Set off well inside the pace but soon started to wilt and decided just to keep a reasnable pace and anjoy the ride. I pushed for the...

Re: Free Spirits meta-nonathlon
If you haven't entered a time/distance for a piece in the previous season, the score to beat will be equal to your highest score in that previous year. In my case, I didn't do a FM in the 2015 season. If I decide to do one in 2016, the 2015 benchmark is set at 873, which was my highest score in 201...

Re: Free Spirits meta-nonathlon
I'm sure it's written down some where in the Free Spirits Library of Wisdom, Myth and Fable, but out of interest how does this work if you have no time/distance for one of the events? For example I did not do a FM last year. What would be my score if I did one this year?
