Re: Injuries.....:(

My plans to make a good start to the season have been thwarted. I emerged tentatively from hospital today brimful of an impressive cocktail of antibiotics after a 3 night stay. The cause of this was a very painful ulcer at the back of the throat. However, after a very quiet day, I am on the mend ...

Re: Free Spirits CTC Participation and Leaderboard

Thanks, Fred and Mike.

I had a second go at the 5k CTC this morning, improving by over 30 secs, and the hamstring feels OK.
Further attempts are planned in the earlier part of the day before it gets too hot!

Sorry to hear about the hamstring Philip. I hope that you recover quickly and find a place without too many boxes to set up the erg!

Fingers crossed that the hamstring is better, Philip!

Thanks for your concern, guys. I got back on the erg today, did a steady attempt at the 5k CTC and ...

Re: Free Spirits CTC Participation and Leaderboard

Checking back on the number of CTC’s completed, I find that in 2012 I did 6, not 5, so that brings my overall total from 181 to 182.
Could you please make the adjustment, Fred ?
Thanks very much for all the painstaking work you do in keeping abreast of all the figures.
I shall soon be back on the ...

Hope the house move went well.
It's a bit less than 40 degrees here at the moment (although still pretty mild for December).

Yes, Mike, we survived the heat. The downside is that today I tweaked a hamstring manhandling a heavy garden statue, so my return to the erg will be subject to some ...

Foul! Just noticed that they have reduced the 5k "Target time" in my category (54 Lwt) by 13S so while I had met my initial goal of 800 points on this earlier in the season, now I need to go 16S faster. Given how this is constructed, it is bound to effect age groups several years each side, so don ...
