Re: October ctc - 666 meters

Thanks Fred Hardly done any rowing in the last 18 months - been swimming which makes me very hungry, so I have come back to the rower which is the best way for me to lose weight   Fitness is dire but the strength should come back fairly quickly - I am planning to have a good few go's at th...

Well it's 12:40 in the morning here, everyone else has gone to bed, and all I can think is -

Just as well it’s not name the artist, so!
Correct Paul
I have both versions - as Peter S pointed out, The Band wrote the original track but I am more familiar with Joan Baez’ brilliant cover

BTW - good to see you back, even if it is only on this thread

Re: Name that tune

Paul, yes twice. Correct title and originally by The Animals. Never having heard of Santa Esmeralda, I just listened for a bit. Not horrible, but I am amazed you could recognize the lyrics from the video version I saw! Having grown up in 70's South Africa with its censorship etc I was brought up wi...

Re: what training have free spirits been doing today?

A bit early for season's bests so I'll chuck this in here. I've failed/bailed on so many 10's it's ridiculous but I managed one last night without it feeling terrible until about the last 25~3km. My SB for last year was 40:12 and after that I never got near it but I managed 40:29.5 last night so wa...

Last year was probably my worst ever rowing wise and its time to get a grip and get back into it. Going to be a struggle! You and me both!! On the plus side for me, I committed to doing a cross_Solent swim so started swimming training in June - never been a great swimmer but am really enjoying the ...

And I agree with your point, Paul.
It is just my competitive mind that gets annoyed by seeing all those meters in the Meterboard but not in the team challenge :-)

Re: World Erg Team Challenge 2019

Hi Paul It is of course not a problem, i just find it strange that there is a separate registration required, because why have the Free Spirits affiliation if you have a problem with logging your meters for the team challenges, after all that is one of the things you need the team affiliation for. ...
