Re: Canadian Indoor Rowing Championships

Hello Kirby

Congratulations to the championship!

A good time considering the circumstances, i. e. lack of challenge, early morning schedule etc.

Do not worry about the lack of recognition from the organiser but be proud of your accomplishment and keep enjoying the sport!

Regards,

Boris

Re: Lifetime Millionaires Club

Hello everyone Congratulations to all of you millionaires! However, I am already a multi-millionaire after having reached 15 million meters today. The season is going well as I am able to keep my daily average a little over 5'500 meters. Due to some stressfull times I lost a bit of weight and streng...

Hello Kirby Good luck, lots of fun and some great adventure with the OTW! I had to cope with tendinits for many years and did by getting injections...which obviously were always a short term (and short-sighted) emergency solution. About two years ago I started to realize that the actual problem were...

Re: x-row 9th Half Marathon Trento

Hi Kirby Your are correct and up to date regarding hig altitude training. As a matter of fact we do have x-country skiers here in Davos who train in the valley at 1560m and spend the night at 2300m for a certain period. However, as I full working family father and true amateur I do not consider such...

Re: x-row 9th Half Marathon Trento

Hello all Thank you for your nice words and comments! Here is a few data, facts and comments, should you be interested: 1. High altitude training pays off and is a big advantage! As some of you might know, I live and train in the Swiss alps at 1620m. All of my training (except for a few challenges t...

x-row 9th Half Marathon Trento

Hello everyone Yesterday I completed my first indoor rowing race over the half marathon distance (also a premier for me). It was very exciting to race in a competitive environment and to experience the atmosphere after practicing for over 20 years in complete solitude... The race was organised by th...

Hello Neil Congratulations on your acquisition and supporting the program! The Shimano 105 is a good setup even for an avid biker. It is however far more important to have a correct setup in terms of bike size related to your body measures, i. e. lenght of your legs, arms etc. Have it set up by prof...

Hello fellow Free Spirits Did the challenge series January 10K today. Finished at 36:33.3 which means new PB! Had no intention whatsoever of rowing a challenge piece but after a few strokes felt again "in the zone", reset the monitor and just "cruised". Unfortunately this "i...

Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?

Hello fellow rowers Guess I found the "zone" yet again...sat down on the rower this afternoon, set the PM4 on 10K (without warmup) as I still had to complete this months challenge series. I was looking to for an relatively easy 37' and something cruise and finished with 36:37.0, which is a...

Well, thanks for all your kind replies.

Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?

Hello guys I guess all of you know the (few) days where erging just feels easy, smooth and rather effortless... Experienced one of these days today. After a very short warmup I decided to go for an hour row (only the fourth time in 20 years of rowing!) and got 16125 m in, which is a new PB. Felt fro...

Best of luck Kirby! I envy you for having the chance to fly over to Beautiful BC just for a weekend of racing....I spent 6 month in Vancouver about 20.5 years ago. It was when I first sat on a rower (A model!) at the Downtown YMCA gym and got hooked!
Is there a website on the event?
