Re: The run in to BIRC 2008
Hey everyone. I just wanted to wish you all the best for Sunday. Good to see eveyone predicting poor performances, we all do that before a PB. Tis all part of the game! Sorry I can't be with you I'm flying to Spain that day but here's hoping for loads of stories of PBs and good times. Have a blast, ...

C2 Log card reader
Before I spend me 26 quid of hard earned birthday money I was wondering if anyone had a logcard reader and used it. If so is it any good or is it as reliable as a Suunto chest belt. Ideally, would you like to give it to me as you don't use it! I know someones gonna say why not get the interne...

Re: what training have free spirits been doing today?
ROWING!!!!! Actual rowing! Not very fast but even so 10K at the incredible splits of 2:20 is better than nothin after a month off injured! No pain from my back during the row and only slight stiffness now so pleased. By the way has anyone actually met shang-Chi, his workouts make me wonder if he is ...

You'll not see it on any official plan but Benton plays cricket so i'm expecting it to tranform my rowing!

I'm just back from a lunchtime run up the Thames. Three miles breathing in pollution and dodging tourists. Still it must all help.

Back injuries mean that I made my running debut last night. I managed 28mins and nearly died!
I don't know how far it was but I fear that I may be worse at running than rowing...

Re: Evesham Golden Mile 2008
I went to Evesham as chief cheerleader to the ever impressive freespirits. Saw some great rows by all of the team and had lots of fun and banter along the way. My trainers were stars of the day powering Skipeola to third in the 30-39 category, I'm not sure I'll ever make them go that fast again. Sta...

Re: 24th MAY 2008: Johny Logan, Julio Iglesias, ABBA??
Brilliant idea Woj, can to negatives make a positive? Can two sources of pain make joy? Good luck finding out! I secretly love Eurovision but would never admit it. I can't row through it as the garage is a small distance for the tv. Good luck though, should at least divide the row up in to manageabl...

Re: What time of day do you erg?
I'm a late evening man once wife and kids are in bed. The earliest I'll ever row in 9.30 and it's often nearer 10.30, any later and I'm just too sleepy. I do try and row during the day on weekends, if the weather is up to it then the rower is dragged into the back garden. I think me in lycra is a si...

Re: Fantasy Football
Well done Wolfie, I like to think I gave you a run for your money (not that I remember putting money on this). And comiserations on the Brum relegation, Birmingham may be run on porn money, although Man City have showed they're are worse places to get money from, but at least they were a proper club...

Re: Finally I'm back, ish!
Thanks for the encouragment. I have have started a blog to chart my progress. It will be available soon in the FS blog section.
I imagine it will contain news about rowing and general complaints about the Central Line.]
Oh and complaints about the dodgy referees Everton always get.

Re: Finally I'm back, ish!
Had a go at a 2K last night, my first since BIRC and as I hadn't rowed more that twice a week since then I didn't get me hopes up. I rowed a fairly even paced 7.33 which was not as bad as i feared. i'm gonna get back to the Pete plan use this to set my targets off. I found rowing without targets rat...

Finally I'm back, ish!
I've decided it's a about time to launch the rowing comeback. I haven't really rowed since the start of December when my first child was born. After the initial shock of trying to keep this young life alive life seems to have settled down, well it would be nice to sleep for more than 5 hours a night...
