Re: What do you do..?

Greg, very interesting. I'll be in Mass this summer (Boston mainly) but we fancy a trip to Cape Cod as we've heard a lot about it. I am though going to hang around Maine a while as I just Ogunquit. Aside from being a place used a lot in The Stand, one of my favourite books, I might even get to bump ...

What do you do..?

When you're not rowing? No pressure but perhaps a few details of your job, your family, your interests outside rowing? I'll start. These days I run my own company and specialise is solving tax enquiries from our oh so gentle HMRC. Our client base is mainly contractors who have been subject to a long...

Absolutely no idea but I heard the Dropkicks at Boston Bruins on New Years Eve.

Not the band but just the song - still pretty good though.

Re: Playlist for 10k

Target stroke rate or actual stroke rate? I target around 23/24 at the outset and perhaps 27/28 towards the end. In reality over 30 minutes, 23/24 is good but increases quite rapidly to around 28/29. Let's be honest here guys, this is just music to enjoy. Once we ahve a list I'll put it up on Spotify.

Re: Playlist for 10k - reimagined

This is an old thread.

Personally I'm doing 30/40 minute pieces (and not threatening 10k) so perhaps a shorter playlist?

My first choice is:

Little Monster - Royal Blood

Next?

Correct.

Had the "pleasure" of seeing that in a bizarre cinema in Williamsburg, VA.

You could order food and have it delivered to you in the cinema!

Weird.

Counting

Back in the day when I had a few metres in a season, we discussed how some of us keep our minds occupied. Sadly, it's taken me only a few rows to get back into that and for what it's worth here's how I break down the sessions I'm doing at the moment. 3 minutes to get settled. 500 at around 2:13 pace...

Off topic a bit (because I still don't know).

There used to be a thread about songs for a rowing playlist.

Still around and I can resurrect or start a new one?

Re: Name that tune

Back when I was erging a lot, and hopefully in the future, I had CD's burnt of particular time periods to match the piece I wanted. A lot of the harder ones (i.e. anything above a warm up) ended with Green Days' "Ha ha, you're dead". Fast piece and pretty much how I felt in that last 2 minutes! Howe...

Re: Sourcing a second hand erg...

I recently bought a machine (Mod D) on fleabay. You can use the PM3/4 monitor to check how many lifetime metres the monitor at least has recorded. And of course if the machine and monitor have been always together... My previous machine was good for more than 6m metres and I sold it in pretty much t...
