Re: October 2013 - celebrating the life of Gaye McOnie
I just finished my 3,861. It was a celebration (somber in some ways). Thinking of both Gaye and Dave today.

Re: October 2013 - celebrating the life of Gaye McOnie
Thanks to Plummy for posting this one the FB page. I would love to participate! I only have a waterrower. It is my understanding that it is going to be kept track of on the meterboard. Is that correct? If so, then I can't participate, if it is an honor system on the forum itself than I'd be honored ...

Re: L4s, etc...the Wolverine(sque) Plan
You people are CRAZY! I go away for a week (ish) and y'all are posting so many great things that I can't keep track and the EPOC TE, etc. HR stuff gone looney! (Good thing my ADD keeps me away from the PP.) Welcome to the club Dave. Bill, no words. Alan, I have to steal your L0! That was the funnies...

Re: L4s, etc...the Wolverine(sque) Plan
Who's Gary?? There are "coaches" popping up all over the place! Q, gary, ruud... Strider and Colin, lovely sets there. So Bill, why did you come back to the WP? The injury from the Bs? Yes I am late with everything. Zoot! Wonderful job. I remember that frustration. At the beginning I cover...

Re: L4s, etc...the Wolverine(sque) Plan
Zoot, Huw is right. A 30' or 40' at 168/172 is a great place to start. You'll find that you like the odd strokes or even strokes better and you'll start building your L4s around that. I found 17/19s were a thing of bliss. If you find that the 30' is too hard than feel free to back off the reference ...

Re: Fall Challenge 2012
I really just meant to say ON THIS THREAD ONLY "this is where I'd be in the standings if I were rowing on a C2". I in no way meant to imply that my meters should be added to the FS total.

Re: Fall Challenge 2012
No it would be a written tally here...only. If I were on a C2 I'd be in x place now.... Inserting myself in about 210th place "unofficially". Thanks plummy and zoot. Zoot it is a rowing machine that uses a barrel full of water instead of the flywheel. I don't love it, but it was free, and ...

Re: L4s, etc...the Wolverine(sque) Plan
Okay, so my re-introduction to the erg is going to consist of incredibly slow (like I won't even post times) L3s. I am too weak to complete a L4 at the moment (not to mention L2s. Short L1s may be an option). I hope this very loosey goosey WP will be okay with y'all. Yesterday for me... 6K (embarras...

Re: Fall Challenge 2012
Can I unofficially be in? I have a water rower at home, and want to play. Granted by play I mean stay at the bottom of the barrel. I might try to get to the gym and use the C2 to actually be in...

Re: L4s, etc...the Wolverine(sque) Plan
Okay, so if you guys hadn't noticed I've had quite a few false starts over the last couple of months. So I decided to join the PPBoston group with for no other reason than motiviation. I am NOT doing the Bs again, and I don't think I will ever do a 2K again. Those things SUCK and I can't take it. Bu...

Re: Boston/BIRC 2012 training Group
Okay, so I've joined the group. Not to compete, 'cause competing is just down right silly, but because I can't get my a%% on an erg to save my life at this point and I figured paying money and the potential of getting yelled at might help... We'll see... I hope y'all don't mind. And since Bill and H...

Re: L4s, etc...the Wolverine(sque) Plan
Greg, Textile is one LONG race! I think I am going to do the New Hampshire Championships on the 16th. Hopefully we won't be that slow again. Bill, at least you can claim only 2 sessions are your nemesis. I get the whole bloody machine! Yesterday for me... OTW, 8+, stroke seat (7 rowers) WU re...

I am not sure that anyone else in boat realized how slow we were. nharrigan's (UK forum) boat actually came within 2 boat ...

Re: L4s, etc...the Wolverine(sque) Plan
Greg, are you not using a reference pace? Bill, stop that overage! Huw way to hit target! Today for me... Stroke of a 8+ (starboard rigged) reverse pick drill (half slide/slide/slide & back/full stroke) by 6 then Then pause drills at arms and body, every stroke. Then 2' on, 1' off 22/24/26/28/28...

Huw, maybe drinking is good for your training.... Greg, my OTW time is pretty regulated. CRI likes it that way. Head of the Charles traffic is picking up. The river should be a downright zoo in a couple of weeks. Your total meters are awesome! Bill, beautiful 500s there! Yesterday for me... (a...

Re: L4s, etc...the Wolverine(sque) Plan
Today for me...
OTW 7 seat
WU pick drill/outside arm only
Then 10 strokes off by 6, then 20 strokes on by 8. Then 1'on/1' off.
Our boat is not very fast, but we were almost set, which was nice, and had some good ratio.

Re: L4s, etc...the Wolverine(sque) Plan
Huw, I once rode up a mountain in California (it was actually my first), and someone passed me. He was thrilled because it was the first time he had ever passed someone going up hill!   It was a proud moment for him. Today for me... 4+ stroke seat. 2K... I got through the reverse pic...
