Re: July ctc - 2112m

My first and probably only attempt this month. Going on holiday next Sunday, the gym opened up again, we've started on water again as well, so there's a lot less erging going on at the moment. Had no idea what the others had rowed before I started, had seen the posts but hadn't remembered the scores...

Re: Name that tune

I read the posts here every now and then, and really don't have much input. Age should 't be the problem, turning 60 later this year. So far the introduction, this time I at least think to know the name of the group: Portugal the man. The name of the song slipper my mind though. Kind of retro disco ...

Re: Free Spirits CTC Participation and Leaderboard

You still are, Jon, great. Even 4 points further away from number 10. A thread for you is of course James Hayter, rapidly moving towards the top 10. WIth 2 CTC's missing, that's a great job. Three completely new entry's this month. Amongst which Crushy active on the forum as well. Welcome to all of ...

Re: Free Spirits CTC Participation and Leaderboard

I had completely forgotten about this last month. Now I have processed the May scores. Quite a lot of re-entry's. And Clare Burrell's 100th according to the list, Roger Burrell's 125th as well as Liefcat's 150th. ^O^ The June results will appear later today I think so hurry when you're very interest...

Thank you Fred, I wouldn't have pushed so hard without the target.
Glad to be of service, Max :fswink:
Great to see six boats afloat indeed, thanks all.

Re: June CTC

With boat 1 out of reach of course decided to have another go anyway. It's our own challenge and I thought a second attempt was necessary. Not as warm as it was earlier this week, the conditions were ok ;). The goal was simple: every interval faster as last time. Managed 4423 meters, last time 4379,...

Re: Nonathlon 2021

Originally planned to do something else today, CTC for instance, with Wolfie so close to me :fswink: , but had to do some work and my wife needed the study for her work (where my C2 is located) so decided to do a 500m, which was my lowest score to date in the Nonathlon. Very pleased with the result,...

Re: Nonathlon 2021

It's certainly stimulating, Jon. Got rid of my last lght green 'score' and turned it into blue, 905 points for 7840 meters in 30 minutes. Thought it might be to warm to achieve a score like this but I managed. A nice even pace with something left in the end. Here a higher pace then my 5K as well, so...

Re: Summer Solstice Challenge

Thanks Dave,

I read this just in time to celebrate the summer solstice on the exact right moment.
Didn't complete the challenge though cause my wife needed the study today. Where the C2 is also located. Not to sorry for that, better luck next year.

Won't be long before Pepe takes the well-owned lead, with the 60 minute scheduled for the FMMC in which he competes as well.

Re: The Pete Plan

Knowing the agony it causes I find it hard to start a 2K with the intention to go anywhere below 7:10. A 5 or 6K suits me much better. I know I can use the pace of my faster 6K for my 5K but I prefer to use the time I actually rowed. My 10K is also much faster then my 30 minutes pace. Should be diff...

Re: The Pete Plan

Fred, I started my post before yours, great session predicting that you are capable of sub-7' when you are feeling brave! I've rowed for quite some years now, never sub-7, don't think I will ever reach that... A tough hour for you, but a very steady pace and great you managed to get that green meta...

Re: The Pete Plan

After a couple of days sniffing, being low in energy, did a pyramid today. A total of 13:48.4, being a 1:43.6 overall pace. Five seconds faster then my previous fastest pyramid. Guess the loss of energy was only temporarily.

Re: The Pete Plan

Last week busy with the heptathlon, yesterday the CTC, some LSD's in between. Time for one of my least favorite PP distances, 4 x 2K. HD'd in the last rep, with about 1.5K to go, I was putting too much pressure on myself thinking it could become the best of it's sort. After a couple of seconds picke...

Re: June CTC

Close again, Tako. Only this time, for now, to my advantage. 7 meters. Had no idea I was that close. My first 7 minutes were in a 1:53.1 pace, didn't think I could make up for that in the last minute. But very happy with the two minutes rest. Just enough to finish the way I did. At least now I know ...

Re: June CTC

Good to see a boat afloat, Paul.
Personally I didn't finish the CTC today. It was to long since I had eaten and felt quite weak during the first seven minutes. During the following five I HD'd. No more opportunities today I'm afraid. Better luck next time.

Re: June CTC

As Jon mentioned, been busy with the heptathlon last week. Probably I'll do this tomorrow, not really sure about the pacing, I think I'll start somewhere between a 2K and a 5K pace. See what happens.

Re: Heptathlon Challenge

Just finished my last one, the 6K. Goal was 23 minutes, a flat race up till 600 meters or so before the end. Speeded up a little. Felt okay during the race but didn't want to go faster, being afraid I would HD perhaps. And I wanted to finish the last heptathlon event of course. Pretty happy with how...
