Re: Bill Wright

Thanks for that Chris and Alan. As Alan says, I can be found most days giving the Wattbike a sound thrashing (a la John Cleese in Fawlty Towers) and then I get on a crank out 20-30 klicks. The parts of the body that get a caning from rowing have finally let me down so I've had to switch disciplines ...

Re: Turbo Sessions (trainer/watt bike) - cross training

Had the Wattbike a week now and after a few conditioning sessions, had a flat out 5k today. Started off with a 5k WU then a 5k to hold a HR of 110 then the flat out version and a 5k Cool down. Wattbike 30.10.JPG The 160 bpm was a one second spike (shown on another readout) so I think that it was an ...

It's a bit of a swine is the back
Where the vertebrae sit in a stack.
Get one out of line
And if it's like mine
It's the Wattbike you'll have attack.

Shipping My Oars

After a great deal of success on the C2 Rower including (at one time) holding four British records in the 60-69 age group, I have finally decided that it's time to stop, "ship my oars" and switch to another form of of fitness training. The reason for this is simple. I have had a a great de...

Haven't rowed for a couple of days so missed what's going on here good stuff from Alan and Huw's relaxed 30' would have been all but flat out for me on a good day. A bit of a tester today to see if the back would hold out in a good hard 1000m. Acumen Sensor for Free

I have just dug out an Acumen Sensor which I used to have on my original C2 Rower with a PM3 monitor. It was used to pick up the signal from the Polar HRM chest strap apparatus and transmit it to the PM3. Techie details here: http://shop-uk.concept2.com/index.php?id_product=51&controller=product...

Had a dabble at this today and as Plummy said, it helps to to make the distance seem to disappear more quickly. I was doing it for 3 x 2k and the best I could do was 3 out of 4 500m splits:

Sort of an L2 today. 4 x 2k with 3' r. First one was a warm up and the next three, going hard at it with Dave's OCD task in mind.
