Re: Captain

What an interesting time to be drifting back towards the club after several years seemingly adrift. I echo what others have said and thank you Stan for all you have done over the years and also wish you well in your continuing health improvements. I also congratulate and wish Peter well as we move f...

Re: Indoor Rowers League 2016/2017

I will be having my attempt today. It will likely be part of a 2km test piece, but will set the splits at 1609m, so I get the exact time. Been a busy month, hence why left until the last day, but will make sure I get it done and registered to make the 8th spot.

Re: March CTC - #C2TweetCrew Pyramid

Had my go at this on Sunday. Target I set myself was to go -1 sec compared to the Feb ctc, (with it being similar in style, although slightly shorter), however managed to shave quite a few seconds off. My results were as follows: 333 1:05.4 1:38.1 666 2:11.4 1:38.6 999 3:16.3 1:38.2 666 2:09.6 1:37....

Re: 2014 weight loss thread

Have really been careful and conscious about my weightloss. I wouldn't say I have been dieting, just eating less treats. I have had a couple of meals out, including 2 'all you can eat' buffets, but I no longer over eat, so at the start of the following week I have still lost some weight. I am still ...

Re: February CTC - RowPro Rules Rugby Test

Sorry about the displacement Paul    Had my 2nd attempt at this one, and in doing so also got my girlfriend to do one. My result was an improvement. Went too hard in the 1 min and heavily paid for it in the final 3 mins, but improvement all the same: 4:00.0 1190 1:40.8 26 (+35m) 3:...

Re: 2014 weight loss thread

Cracking weight loss guys, does wonders for the motivation when I see others doing so well. Paul, 2kg in 5 weeks is well achievable for you particularly looking at your previous loss weeks. Keep up the motivation and the goal will soon be achieved. I have not posted for a while but have my latest re...

Re: February CTC - RowPro Rules Rugby Test

Some good scores being posted, well done all. I had my go at this session today. Last week I did a 2km test and scored 6:54.8, (first time I have been sub 7 in a few years) so was aiming for around 1:44 for this test. 4:00.0 1155 1:43.8 26 3:00.0 874 1:42.9 28 2:00.0 583 1:42.9 27 1:00.0 297 1:41.0 ...

Re: 2014 weight loss thread

Hey Paul, Yeah seem to still have some fitness, had been struggling to do many longer pieces sub 2:00 split, but the added motivation of first session at a new club, helped me on my way. After telling the coach my weight, she said nice and loud 'don't go having a heart attack', you don't have to rat...

Re: 2014 weight loss thread

Hi all, After returning to exercising on a more frequent basis, and with the start of the new year, and the looming 30th birthday, I feel I need to join this to boost and maintain the motivation to lose and keep off the bulge. Have been around 130kg for nearly 1.5 years. My 'official' weigh in days ...

Re: nonathlon 2014

Cheers Stan, yeah has been a while since I really have spent time on the erg and been on here. Over the last 1.5 years I had moved back home from university and so never had a gym membership so lack of erging. I have now completed and been awarded my PhD, (graduation on 11th Dec), and am now living ...

Hi all, I'M BACK Some great times being posted by one and all as always. I have now returned to the erg after being on/off and not really doing any consistant training for a couple of years now. After completing my PhD I am now settled with my Girlfriend in our flat in Nottingham and have joined the...

Re: Nonathlon 2013

Hi Stan, thanks for noticing my return. Is nice to see people looking out for me :). I have started to get back on the erg more and more recently. Had a big time off with a Glandular fever type illness which left me with post viral fatigue for a very long time. But now I have started, at least with ...

Re: May CTC: 1k unrestricted

After a lengthy time away due to a Glandular Fever type illness (they never actually managed to diagnose it, everything indicated Glandular fever, but tests said it wasn't) in Oct 2009, which left me with post viral fatigue for about a year. I gradually started training again in Oct for the start of...

Hi, not completely cured as am still infected with something, but I feel good enough to start my own training again. I will not be training with my club until at least a couple of months, but thought it was time I started doing something again and try to stop the ever increasing waistline  . Seb

Re: Injuries.....:(

Hey all, Not so much an injury as a really bad illness. I have been away for so long. after my outdoor season finished last year, I took somewhat of a break to relax, before picking up training again to get ready for the start of the new season back in Oct last year. Things were going well, until on...

Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?

I have to admit I was not expecting to be writing on here for several more weeks. Today I did my first decent session since tearing my hamstring 32 days ago. (I had done a couple of 10 mins sessions, but other than that no training for the whole time, well apart from EIRC 500m  ) Tonights team...

Well with 40 mins to go, I guess you guys are getting a little nervous. You will do great :D . I am sure you will succeed fully with your targets , after all the training you guys have put in, even though I can't imagine what it must be like to row that sort of time. You will have to let us all know...
