Re: Indoor Rowers League 2019/2020

Louise Allcock is already in the list of 14 interested FS (Shmoo). With Chris Newberry it would be 15, still one team member short of the minimum of 16.

Re: Indoor Rowers League 2019/2020

Thanks for bringing that up Dave, the time limit is the end of September. However, I don't want to leave it to the last minute. I got the impression that we won't be able to create two teams this season. Or how do you folks see it? If we set up one team I'd suggest to pick those Free Spirits that sh...

Re: Rowing at (and beyond) the limit

Hi Jill, I watched the race on TV, that canal is about 800km/500miles away from home. And I even didn't watch it live but later on the internet as I was rowing at the time (at a much more pedestrian pace of course  ). Some of the German comments also suggested the race should have been stoppe...

Rowing at (and beyond) the limit

Hi everyone, as I'm also interested in otw rowing I watched the so called "Kanalcup" last weekend. It's a race for eights only on the Kiel canal, a waterway linking the North Sea and the Baltic Sea. With a distance of 12.7km it's the world's longest boat race (the Oxford Cambridge race is "only" 6.8...

September ctc - 1800m / 3'r / 1200m / 3'r / 1800m

Hi everyone,

team Redline Rowers (RLR) have announced the September ctc:

1800m/1200m/1800m (refering to the 18th (R) and 12th (L) letter of the alphabet)

3 mins rest between reps.

Standing start for the first rep. Subsequent reps as you like.

The second 1800 will be ugly! Any ideas re the pacing?

That was a great time Tako, well done on that huge improvement! =D> Steve, all that otw stuff seems to do you good, very strong time! =D> I had my third try yesterday and was able to shave off another 6.6 seconds: Unbenannt.JPG(1).jpg Legs were totally done after that, don't think I'll have a fourth...

Re: AUG CTC - 'Dog Days Double Double'

Come on people, it's almost the middle of the month and I'm still in boat #1, that can't be right  I had my second go at this last night. My first attempt was a time of 8:24.1 (1:49.6) and I was hoping to better that: Unbenannt.JPG.jpg Seems it worked, happy for now with an improvement by 8.7 s...

Max, I hope you are still on the road to recovery? Had my third go at this last night with the aim of beating every rep from my last effort. Additionally I decided to attack the 500m a bit more. As I'm not a good sprinter the most effective way to gain time for me is on the longest interval. This is...

After leaving it to the last possible day in June I decided to have an early go this time which was yesterday. Wasn't feeling great but thought "what the heck" and went for it:

Marta, you can do both manually, entering it in your logbook and in the ctc table. And yes, it will count towards the June challenge (if you do it today).

Thanks for floating another boat!

Because this ctc is so much fun :^o I had my fourth go at it last night. Aim was again to beat last time's split in each rep. This is how it went: image-2019-05-23.jpg First rep went well with a pace 1.1 seconds quicker than last time. Encouraged by that I tried to go a bit faster in the second rep ...
