Re: July ctc - 500m/2'30"r/400m/2'r/300m/1'30"r/200m/1'r/100m

Max, I hope you are still on the road to recovery? Had my third go at this last night with the aim of beating every rep from my last effort. Additionally I decided to attack the 500m a bit more. As I'm not a good sprinter the most effective way to gain time for me is on the longest interval. This is...

Well done Dave! =D>

Had my second go last night which was better than attempt #1, but not good enough to catch Dave. Maybe doing them back to back was'nt the brightest idea...

After leaving it to the last possible day in June I decided to have an early go this time which was yesterday. Wasn't feeling great but thought "what the heck" and went for it:

Marta, you can do both manually, entering it in your logbook and in the ctc table. And yes, it will count towards the June challenge (if you do it today).

Thanks for floating another boat!

July ctc - 500m/2'30"r/400m/2'r/300m/1'30"r/200m/1'r/100m

Hi everybody, team Esprit have announced the July ctc: "‘Lactic Leveller’ 500m R2:30 400m R2:00 300m R1:30 200m R1:00 100m Standing start for first. As you like for the rest." Another pain fest it seems  The choice would have been DLC Gidea Park's but they decided to leave the ctc (does anyon...

June ctc - 20 x 300m / 1'r

Hi everybody,

Team Oarsome have chosen the June ctc:

"20 x 300m r1. Rolling starts allowed and no rate restrictions."

That's going to be a tough one

Because this ctc is so much fun :^o I had my fourth go at it last night. Aim was again to beat last time's split in each rep. This is how it went: image-2019-05-23.jpg First rep went well with a pace 1.1 seconds quicker than last time. Encouraged by that I tried to go a bit faster in the second rep ...

10.9 seconds quicker than last time, which is still not great, but at least things are pointing in the right direction.

Had my first go at this last night and ended up with an annoyingly slow pace of 1:52.3  image-2019-05-07.jpg First speed work in quite a while and the first rep felt awful, but at least it got better through the session. Steve, I'm afraid I can't provide you with a proper target this month...

The Indoor Rowers League 2018/2019 has come to an end and for the first time Free Spirits were taking part with two teams. Congratulations on your HM PB Max! =D> That end heart rate looks rather high (like it should do at the end of a hard HM :D ), is that near your max heart rate? It's a cracking season you're having with a whole set of PBs, except for the 1k. Are you going for the 1k PB in April (might fit well with t...

Re: 2019 Mud Season Madness - a review

At the beginning of the challenge I couldn't imagine to make either the 5k or the 10k challenge. Therefore one day I rowed only 8.5k ("doesn't matter anyway"). Later in the month it turned out I would be able to complete 25 days of rowing so this one day <10k cost me the 10k challenge. But nevermind...

Good to see you back in the ctc Joe, and with a very competitive score, too! Great improvement Fred on an already very good score! I had my first go at this March 13th with a time of 14:27.4 / 1:48.5. But since then I was suffering a nasty cold and merely paddling long slow distances for the world e...
