Re: Name that Film

Squirrel!! - you are correct.

The line is at the start when the workmen are talking to him about moving out of his house. That film has one of the best opening 15 minutes ever made.

Re: what training have free spirits been doing today?

The forum is very quiet so I thought I'd chuck something (albeit very average) up just to show I'm still doing a bit here and there. On Tuesday I decided to clear some cobwebs and do an interval set. Thought about a 2 x 2000m but wasn't enthusiastic at all so dropped it to 4 x 1500 (3.5 mins rest) F...

Thank you for the reminder Peter - I only ever look at "new posts" so tend to forget the ones I last posted on if no one else has after me.

Re: June ctc - 20 x 300m / 1'r

Despite the brutality of this one I can see people having 2~3 goes as it's one of those that once you have a marker, set a pace...and didn't die, you think "maybe I can shave a bit off that!". After a week on a cruise holiday and virtually no exercise (they had a single Life Fitness "rower" with the...

Re: Name that tune

You have the song - and almost the artist (it's Billy Ocean). but the title is what counts.

Explorer of the Seas this time (first time on this ship) - Royal Caribbean (see, there was even a link to the song there too!)

Re: Name that tune

I'll put a whole verse in as I need this to go quickly as I'm away for a week from tomorrow (so actually Peter, as you get nearer to where I am now, I'll be moving further south - port by port! (nothing personal :-) ) ): I lose my cool when she steps in the room And I get so excited just from her pe...

A) I believe I made my position to your boss quite clear.
B) You poured prune juice in his gas tank.
A) Oh yeah, that was good. Here, let me talk to him. You in the suit. Yes, you. Take a bath, hippy!

As a clue for starters...not a "real life" movie..

No - it's something to do with crying like "all cried out" or "all cry out loud" - just can't remember it properly.

Re: what training have free spirits been doing today?

A bit early for season's bests so I'll chuck this in here. I've failed/bailed on so many 10k's it's ridiculous but I managed one last night without it feeling terrible until about the last 2.5~3km. My SB for last year was 40:12 and after that I never got near it but I managed 40:29.5 last night so w...

Well done Marta. For a 2k you need to be pushing up the stroke rate if at all possible. See if you can hold 27~28 for 1,000 and see how that feels first.
