Re: Beginners

Welcome Belinda. I've never heard of insurance being needed but I'm from the UK so it's never crossed my mind. That said, I've never seen it mentioned either. I think your EHIC card should cover everything.

Good question though - maybe others can chip in with differing experiences?

Re: Anyone had any SEASON's bests recently?

Well done Dave, five seconds off a 500m is massive! =D> I agree with Jon that your 1k is looking a bit soft now  :fswink: And while you're at it, why not have a go at the 2k as well, with a percentage of 71.5% it would be an easy target for you now :D I 100% agree that my 2k is as soft as ...

Re: Anyone had any SEASON's bests recently?

The Lightweights FB group challenge is 500m this month so I had a stab thinking I ought to be able to take a second or two off my previous seasons best ( 1:43.3 ) - managed a full 5 seconds and pulled it down to 1:38.3. Actually a decent haul of Nonathlon points as well (44 more) with a score of 910...

Re: Indoor Rowers League 2019/2020

I'm meeting Andrea at her gym on the 30th so maybe we can set for 6344m and duel it out and push each other to a few seconds each off our best times so far.

Re: Overtraining

I have struggled for a long time but having dropped my mileage down and my pace dropped off I can't justify it as just over-training, more just lack of will to push on or through. I usually row Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday so mostly on one day's rest. On occasion, life gets in the way and ...

Re: Indoor Rowers League 2019/2020

Muddled my way through to finishing one last night although I had to back off a couple of times after 4k in. A rather average 25:35.7 ( 2:01.0 pace). Given my best 6k this season was at 2:00 pace there may be a fraction more in the tank)

The metres for November 3rd seem to have disappeared (for that day) - although my season total appears to be correct??

I'm thinking Harry Chapin and "W.O.L.D." but that might be off the mark as I haven't googled to check spellings etc

Good luck with the challenge Dave! :fswink:
Never said I was doing it (I didn't do it last year!). Just giving it a bit of air for any others that might be interested. I still can't get to 10k to a HM isn't going to happen any time soon! :(

Re: October ctc - 666 meters

Not in the habit of having a second go with CTCs these days and coming off the back of a head cold last week I really wasn't going to bother but a certain Mr Taylor popped in a teasing pace of 1:44.4 against my 1:45.1 so I thought "I wonder..." 1:43.0 was my new pace and 2:17.2 total time (actually ...

Re: Crazy Bear Challenge

Rather than start a new thread (as the Challenge is very specific and quite niche) - Crazy Bear 2019 starts on November 10th. It's the same format as last year with entries for ergo (must be a full HM), SkiErg (must be a HM) or BikeErg (must be a FM) with the challenge to try and complete 30 in 44 d...
