Re: Indoor Rowers League 2018 / 2019

Managed (at last) to finish a 10k this morning. I again had to back off a couple of times but at least I didn't quit - although it was close at least once. Added to that I scraped a bit off my IRL entry time from 41:08.6 down to 40:48.2. Hardly earth shattering - but at least an improvement of sorts...

Re: March ctc - 666/333/666/333/666/333/666/333 - 10' 30" total rest

That's an awesome set there Guy - well done. I managed 13k last night but that did include yet another HD at 30 minutes into a 10k (7342m done) and then a follow on 5k in 21:14 which was a battle not to quit to get the metres for the WEC Team total. Given my best 10k for the IRL is 41:09 and that's ...

Re: March ctc - 666/333/666/333/666/333/666/333 - 10' 30" total rest

Go Lightweights!! Nice one Ian. My side strain is OK but there's something else going on that I can't fathom. I seem to run out of air, lungs and heartrate at about 150bpm at the moment and as a result I'm bailing on everything very early, like 10~20 minutes at any sort of pace and I can't continue ...

Re: World Erg Team Challenge 2019

I'm in - not that that should shock anybody...but it's a good idea to highlight that a) the event exists and is taking place and b) that you don't need to row any more than your usual metres (although a few extra couldn't hurt ;-) ) and help the team towards the total.

Re: Indoor Rowers League 2018 / 2019

Nice work going on here. I tried to gain a few seconds but bailed at 5k. Bit of a fail in the cajones department as I was well ahead of pace and should have just backed off for a while. I'll be trying again for FSP though.

Re: Meter board banter

Bit of a thread resurrection but I just noticed a certain Christine Wojcik appearing towards the bottom of the meterboard with a first row of the season of 7207m. That's an immensely welcome sight. Glad to see you back m'lady :-)

Re: Indoor Rowers League 2018 / 2019

Well, that didn't go to plan. How I didn't HD I will never know. I was aiming for sub-41 but crawled over the line with 41:04.7. A SB for me, but I don't think it will be enough of an improvement to get more meta-nonathlon points. HR was horrendous for 30 of the 40 minutes. This will be my only eff...

Re: Injuries.....:(

Sorry to hear of your woes Ian. I've got what feels like a "side strain" as well (upper left side behind where my left bicep would be if my arm was next to my ribcage) and it's been there for about 3 weeks and neither going away or getting any better - so I'm carrying on with it as it is. I once did...

Re: March ctc - 666/333/666/333/666/333/666/333 - 10' 30" total rest

Had my first go at this and judging by previous months, probably my last as well. I've been bailing on rows left right and centre recently and anything above 20~30 mins is likely to end up in a big old HD so this was actually a bit of a refreshing change having lovely little rests of my choosing eve...
