Re: World Erg Team Challenge 2019

Yes, and third place would have been no problem if all that enter meters into their C2 log book would have signed up for the team for this challenge.... It is a bit annoying that one has to separately sign up on the team’s page. Agreed although I guess they have to "ask". It would be better if we c...

Re: what training have free spirits been doing today?

Tried to get an FM in today before I run out of season. Ran out of energy before half way and was never even close to "getting it done no matter what" in my head. Looks like this will be the first year in 12 that I won't complete an FM. Banked a few metres - but that's about it. Form, stamina, cajon...

Yes - All Out Of Love.

Their most tragic song of many I think.
 I sort of remember them - was like looking at 4 or 5 Leo Sayers on one stage!!
Though I must confess I do like the song "Making Love out of Nothing At All" - though I think that was a Jim Steinman composition

Re: Name that tune

I think the reason this thread struggles is finding the balance between "that's way too obvious" and "I've never even heard of the band, let alone the song or the lyrics". I would suggest that if it wasn't a "hit" (and even that brings its issues as it depends which country it was/was not a "hit" in...

Re: APRIL CTC - single 1500m

Had a go and managed 5:35.6 ( 1:51.8 pace ) and managed to negative split the 5 x 300's. I was targeting Jon Taylor and figured I "should" be able to duck under his time but managed a bit more than just scraping under it which was nice. Pretty sure there's not enough in the tank to worry Mr Bee thou...

Re: APRIL CTC - single 1500m

That's very nicely paced - great effort Ben. I agree with your thinking that there's another couple of seconds more in the tank. Maybe try and hold 1:45 for the first 1,000 and see what's left. You'll have a couple of seconds in the tank if (ha! "if". more like "when") it gets nasty.

Hi PaulC (and welcome to the forum). If you go to the blue bar at the top of this page and click on the "Links" tab, a drop-down will appear which includes a link to the CTC. Click on that and towrads the top right of the CTC page you will see a red text header that says "Add or update a person". Ho...

Re: APRIL CTC - single 1500m

Welcome to Free Spirits Ben and thank you for joining us with your baptism of fire with an almost perfect "fly n die" 1500m. That was a brave effort but I think you should maybe start at 1:46 (or even a little slower) and then see what's left for the last few hundred and empty the tanks at the end r...
