When you throw down a challenge I foolishly go for it! Snuck back into boat ivy by the skin of my teeth. I will not be repeating this one...twice was enough!Image

Re: June ctc - 20 x 300m / 1'r

Liefcat, it wasn't pretty, that's for sure! Tackling that CTC after not rowing much at all for a couple of months was a challenge. Pace was all over the board and HR was through the roof, but I finished it :).

Re: June ctc - 20 x 300m / 1'r

I had to leave my rower at our florida house and I have been focusing on my Triathlon training, but I will try to get to gym by this weekend in an attempt to enter a score for this month's CTC to float another boat. Haven't rowed in a month, so it isn't going to be fast, but I will try :).

Re: Free Spirits CTC Participation and Leaderboard

Thanks for the kind words, Jill! I did the ctc early on in month but chose not to redo it later because a) I knew I couldn't catch the next faster female (at the time) and b) I have been trying to train at a lower heart rate. Even if I don't float my goal is to do every ctc at least once. This month...

Re: Free Spirits CTC Participation and Leaderboard

I must learn to look at ctc totals on last day of month for late entries so I can retry if knocked out of floating boat. Oh well...there is always another challenge :).

Two weeks off rower due to travel. Posted a time just to float a boat...will try for a more competitive time later this month.

Re: January 19 CTC - 20/R20

Thanks, Max. As you can tell from the splits, fatigue was definitely a factor. My normal row pace is 2:30 to 2:35, so a 2:22 pace for 20 minutes was definitely a struggle, but I barely made my 4200 goal.

Plenty of room for improvement before the end of the month, but at least I got another boat afloat :)

Re: November CTC - 11x111 r1

4.41.1...plenty of room for improvement, but I've never rowed fasted than 2.00 or 200 watts, so at least I'm improving! Perhaps we can be the first full boat this month :). I used a drag factor of 175 and struggled the last few intervals, so I'll experiment with lower drag and perhaps higher rate an...

Re: Meterboard 2 - bugs and feature requests

Hi Thomas, I am new to the team, so I apologize if I don't know how everything works yet. Should the skeleton icon have appeared automatically once I completed the challenge and uploaded to Concept 2 log? I finished the challenge earlier today and my meters match your team link, but the icon has not...

Re: October CTC - 1934m/2206m/400m/200m 2'r

Yay Jill on getting boat VI afloat! After multiple HD attempts (that second interval kept getting in my head) to improve my time, I have given up and am happy to have just completed the skeleton challenge and almost 100,000 meters since purchasing my erg Oct 6. I'll be ready for a shorter challenge ...

Re: October CTC - 1934m/2206m/400m/200m 2'r

Successfully moved up a boat :). It about killed me though...almost went handle down a few times. Took another 30 sec or so off my time. Appreciate the images posted so I can tell about how I should pace myself even if I am way slower than you guys are. At least I am approaching the 2 min mark for s...

Re: October CTC - 1934m/2206m/400m/200m 2'r

I am way too competitive for my own good. Had to try the contest two days in a row. Took almost 45 seconds off my time from either better technique, better pacing, or a slightly higher drag factor (115). If I could improve by 45 seconds every day I might catch some of the guys by month end :). Need ...

Thanks for the welcome, plummy and jill. Plummy, your relatives are within 1/2 hr. of us in Michigan, as we live in Ann Arbor (home of U of M, but Mich State fans as both my husband and son are State grads). Learning the ropes of the erg and the forums and looking forward to participating in the cha...

Thanks for the welcomes! I added my time (name wasn't in pulldown yesterday, but today it was) and we got an extra point for boat V :). I will give it one more shot for a better time before month is out. I went a bit too strong in first interval and wore myself out. Also doing beg pete plan. How do ...

Just joined the Free Spirits team and I have a completed time for the contest if you need another female time. Do I need to register somewhere first (already joined team in profile) or can I just add my time on the contest page? Thanks, Janet Lawton

Re: Beginners

Hi everyone, I just started rowing 2 weeks ago and joined Free Spirits today, so I thought I would introduce myself a bit. I do lots of cross training...sprint triathlons, pickle ball, paddle boarding, skiing, some classes at the gym, etc. I was looking for something to tone more vs. straight cardio...
