With just six boats floated, April wasn't one of the team's better months...

Re: WAARC - April 2013 - 60min

Great 60mins Other Alan! I reckon that could put you at #1.

Well done on completing your first hour of power, millie. And a nice pace too. :) Will you be tempted to try this one again? ;)

Nice one Richard! Thats another good PB. Whats next?

Thanks guys. Millie, you're right. My cold has completely gone now. Probably helped by not being at work for three weeks, surrounded by snivelling fools!

Re: WAARC - April 2013 - 60min

Great start to this month's WAARC, with five entries. Hopefully a sign of things to come.

You've got a bit more work to do if you want to win this month, Mikkel. :fswink:

First attempt at this for me, and a (LWT) PB:

Would like to try again later in month and improve further.

Re: Anyone had any PBs recently?

Nice PB, Richard. I reckon that one wont last long, though. :fswink: =D> PB for me over 60mins today. Nothing to get too excited about, as it was only my second such effort as a LWT, and my first was a R20 row, but still... it's always nice to post in this thread. 60min 2:09.8 @ 24spm 2:09.4 @ 24spm...

Re: March CTC 920m

March's CTC is now complete - we succeeded in floating nine boats. This is a bit down on last month's twelve which is a bit disappointing. I really thought with a shorter distance we'd see increased participation, but that wasn't the case. Anyway, thanks to all 46 Free Spirits who did take part in t...

WAARC - April 2013 - 60min

April is the final month of the 2012/13 rowing season. Many of us will be looking to row some extra meters to try and hit individual distance targets. To provide a little extra motivation, April's Weight & Age Adjusted Rowing Challenge will be the longest yet - 60min . The rules are simple: Row ...

Re: WAARC - March 2013 - 2km

No worries, millie. You already had two attempts - can't complain about that. All the best with your three regattas. I managed to squeeze in my attempt this afternoon. Preparations weren't ideal, but in the end happy enough to set a time 10s away from my PB. Probably better than expected, to be hone...

Re: WAARC - March 2013 - 2km

It does impose a slight penalty. The 'magic' weight is 77.27kg - anything below that gets a bonus, anything above gets a penalty. But, of course, those heavier than you will get a bigger penalty.

Still off work, and still enjoying having a hired C2 in the kitchen. So I've been doing much more rowing than I otherwise would had I still been at work. Just following the early stages of C2's 20-min training plan. So lots of R20 and R22 sessions. And now I have a heart rate monitor and k...

Nice effort Stan. =D> A semi-proper attempt saw me set a 3:24.7. I say semi-proper, because I started at 1:55 pace and finished at 1:47. :? It's just been so long since I've done anything fast, I thought being conservative was the best plan. I'll maybe have another go in the next couple of days just...

Re: Garden Birds

The Brambling migrates from Scandinavia to spend the winter in this country, so it's always amazing to see such a small bird and consider the distances it has travelled and will travel again shortl...
