Re: Don’t swim on Friday 13
I would like to share an experience with the rowing/swimming heart sufferers . November 2008 having completed a 1mile time trial on our machine and still sitting to recover I felt very dizzy and thought I was going to pass out - finished up with four days in intensive care in Agen Hospital , we were...

Thank you to all the Team for your efforts. I continue to be amazed at the results every one has produced. Had Gillian been able to understand what this CTC was about I know she would have wanted to be in a team. Clare and Roger

If Gillian could understand I am sure she would be happy with any of your suggestions for a header but I like the idea of combining her achievements and Alzheimers.

Re: Poll for October ctc
Dear Members, Thank you for your kind thoughts regarding Gillian. Tako`s idea for the challenge sounds fine and I am sure ,had she been able , Gillian would have joined in. I will approach the task with great trepidation as it is certainly a demanding challenge.

Re: Poll for October ctc
Re Gillian-Thank you for your comments. Gillian was happy to have a go at any CTC but enjoyed most those with the additional mental challenge of an abnormal task. Incidentally in addition to her rowing achievements she became an accomplished competition swimmer in her sixties when she decided that h...

Re: Poll for October ctc
Re September CTC. Thank you for considering my note that Gillian was having problems with the complicated tests but I am very sorry to say that a rapid mental deterioration has required a transfer to a Care Home. She cannot stand on her own and is unable to walk, spends much of her day dozing and li...

Re JohnT`s comment. How is this not in the spirit of the CTC? I thought the idea was to consider the participation of the maximum competitors through variations of tasks. Roger Burrell

Regret Gillian no longer understands the detail required for a change in stroke rate or remembers that each month there is a CTC comp. She is perfectly happy to sit on the machine and row in her own way and will continue to contribute to a team.

Re: Injuries.....:(
Plummy, What is all this rubbish about `old age`? My Defibrillator went off during swimming training about 10 weeks ago, all I felt was a punch on my chest and I had to keep swimming as I was in deep water, which led to a hospital check after which the Dr. said to continue but at a reduced pace. Con...

Dear All, I regret I will not be joining you for some time as I have just returned from 10 days in hospital having a defibrillator fitted. During a swimming training session I suffered palpitations and a racing pulse. No left arm activity for two weeks to allow control wire to bed into my heart and ...

Re: February ctc - 3 x 7' / 5'r, the slowest to count
Gillian has declined, at the moment, to do the CTC this month saying she does not understand the 5min waiting between each 7 mins. Trying to give her details does not help. Roger
