Re: December ctc - 2963m / 5‘r / 2185m

Tomorrow is a 5k UT3/UT2 recovery row, Zoot. Then either 6k or more the next day. Assuming I can restrain myself. It was all I could do to keep myself from doing a second row today. Got the second blister today, not too bad.

Re: What are your priorities for 2023/4 Season

Goal is to not slip away from a polarized training plan. Lots of UT3/UT2 training. Some L1/L2 training. At most one AT session per month, only if it's a match for some CTC.

They probably limit you to lifting something like 30 pounds. So it sounds like no rowing (power cleans) at all for you. Good luck with your recovery.

Someone welcome me back. I'm in terrible shape. Should be able to complete this month's CTC though. (Curious what my signature looks like after all this time, if it still exists.)

Re: Poll for October ctc

The quotes JonT gives. First one was 3x7’/5’r standing starts, slowest counts Second one was 30’ rate 24 (3000m or so for her, unrestricted rate) The last CTC she did was Nov 2017, 4x750m/3’r She also did 200m, a 4k pyramid, and 10x30”/60” (So the longest thing she’s done recently, straight or in an...

Re: August ctc - 6 x 1' / 1'r, rolling starts except #1

When looking at the top of the C2CTC page I can not see anything regarding standing/rolling start while this thread suggests only standing for the first. Did I overlook something?? The post in the C2CTC thread says standing start for the first rep. It doesn’t matter that the C2CTC page doesn’t ment...

Most recent 500 1:51.1
Most recent 1k 2:02.4
Both of those seem fair given my current fitness

Tried drag 116
1:59.0x, 1:59.0x, 1:58.5x, 1:58.1x, 1:56.7x, 1:53.6x
1532m 1:57.4x

I'm sure it just gets steadily more painful no matter how you approach it, so... good luck to everyone.

Along similar lines (but using a Scrabble score generator (!!!): Free (7 score, 7 minutes....) Spirits (9 minutes) Rules (5 minutes) Mashup with Tako, it could be 1000m for first letter and 100m for others. That gives Free 4300m ?rest Spirits 1800m How much rest would this need to match a Devon 5k ...

Our participation in CTC has been fairly consistent in the past 12 months, but slightly higher (38+) in: 1000m/3’r/992m 6km 200m From Rodger in last thread: Our last five [6] choices were: [January 2017: 4 x 4 min / 4 min rest] August 2015: 3 x 9 min / 3 min rest October 2013: 3861 m (for Gaye McOni...

Too hot and too many other things going on. So decided to do the 10k today instead of HM. No chance of getting near last year's SB set in winter. 45:49.5 :(
Hope the Australians are icing it. Good luck everyone. I see some inspired competition going on.

Nice work, Daffy. So you won’t be kicked out of boat one until at least two weeks into the month, if at all. I still remember that month where I was in boat one for a whole two days! Because the fast people didn’t enter times as quickly as they usually do  I won’t make my attempt until late in...

Re: Lifetime Millionaires Club

This isn't going to get any bragging rights at the Erg Saloon but I'm proud to post my first million meters . Out of interest, not all my meters are logged on Concept2 because I didn't originally use Ergdata, do people add bulk meters to align the two? I think that’s the way to do it. When...

Thanks, Rodger. Good fun and motivation. Last season was a bit of setback for me. Only rowed about 55% as much as the season before, mostly due to travel and illness. So far this season is starting off right. Good luck to everyone.

Three minutes is a lot of rest. I guess if did the 1k all out, could do the second rep at 6 sec slower pace. So, maybe do the 1k at 1k+2. :-k

So basically 3500m at 2000m pace. But you get some rest, so that’s generous.

3396m and 3398m. Guessed right. 2.7s slower pace than last season’s 30’. :? But at least I’ve built volume back up finally. Got in 90km in the past week. Decided rowing comes first, no matter what’s going on with work or whatever. Good luck everyone; it’s a pretty pleasant CTC.
