Nice work, Obi Rob Sanobi - you're our only hope! ;)

That's impressive work there, Paul G! Or maybe it's not and it only sounds impressive to this not-interested-in-swimming-for-exercise-cuz-it-kind-of-scares-me guy! :D

Re: Rowing for Weight Loss & Motivation

JonT's got the gist... Most people don't want to hear and/or believe this, but, generally speaking, you can out-eat nearly any reasonable exercise program you put in place. Exercise makes it EASIER to lose weight if you're also watching the intake.

Nice, Tako - dwarfs my contribution, but that won't stop me! :D 3MM.jpg Gold Star, please! Had to get a little creative to land on 3MM. Did a 1,000M warm-up, then the 10x100 May CTC, then finished with a 2338 funsies/cooldown piece... :) I thought about making the 2K competitive, but didn't have the...

Okay, I did this damned thing. It was the opposite of fun for me... :) Tweaked my back after the 5th "set" & went into back preservation mode, but it didn't affect my time much. I found it physically impossible to row below 1:28 regardless what I did. It wasn't exhaustion, just lack of...

what is "to be fit" ? ... Athletes tend to have a different perception of themselfs, they are chalenging themselfs, they also have to care about recovery. One thing I've noticed as I age is that "being fit" changes over time. As a young man, I thought being fit was getting as mu...

I checked the Meterboard today and noticed that Dwayne is back! Jill was right. He's apparently not been on break as he dumped 274K meters in yesterday's slot. That's about 4 times as many as me in the last 2 1/2 weeks... :)

Concept2 Marathon/Century Challenge

You have until tomorrow, 5/15 to complete your 1/2 or full Marathon (or 50K or 100K if you're REALLY crazy!). I did my first Half-Marathon in late January and was in no hurry to repeat it. Today, I bested that time by about 45 seconds in order to participate in the C2 challenge. It was a rocky row a...

It is!

Apparently, as I learned today, it was originally recorded by The Kingston Trio. Frank heard their version and wanted to record it.
Ah, I did not know that! Here's the next one:

Naturally quite low at both top and bottom end, resting HR down in the low 40's, but do not have a massive top HR either. I also try and make sure I do not go into the red too early, have a tendency to go blow up if I do. Spoken like my biological twin! :) If I get to 160 or so for more than a coup...

Sat down for a 10K today with no particular goals. I was feeling pretty good, so I started negative splitting it. After the sprint at the end, I thought I'd nabbed myself a PB as I couldn't remember the exact time, but no... I ended up 2.2 seconds shy. So 40:38.5 is my new Season's Best. I have a fe...

Thanks, guys! It's interesting what can happen when you actually put the meters in. This season is by far the most meters I've ever accumulated at 541,425 so far; 450K of which are since Jan 1 of this year... :) My previous best season was the '16/'17 season with 449K and an average over the previou...
