Re: LADIES banter/training/motivation thread ??

Hi Jill, Love the artistic license - now, having read it, I shall forever think of Erik Blood Claw invading the shores of Britain sitting on his Chief's shoulders and hanging on for dear life. Training - yes well, lack of time certainly, and lack of enthusiasm possibly. I find I take forever to reco...

Re: LADIES banter/training/motivation thread ??

Thanks Philip - I think we may have met before; in the New Zealand masters' games perhaps. I didn't compete then because of injury, but Wayne did well. Anyway I'm looking forward to the event this year. Cheers, Tina

Re: LADIES banter/training/motivation thread ??

Hi Jill, thanks so much for checking in. Yes, we are still aiming to compete in the Games, but my training is not what it should be. Still going to the gym and doing weight training, but actual rowing training is a bit sparse. Raj is still going strong at 16 years old - his kidneys are failing, but ...

Re: WELCOME to New Members

I'm still not showing on the meter board, although I've updated my details to reflect my new Concept 2 account number. What else can I do - and whatever it is, I also need to do it for Aussie Battler (aka Wayne Gallasch).

That's great Jon, thanks - and the same for Wayne Gallasch (Aussie Battler). Greatly appreciated.

Re: WELCOME to New Members

Hi Jon, Concept 2 have just amalgamated my old log book with my previous log book; my logbook ID is 1694180; and it shows all my recent meters as well as the historical records. User name is belairtina. I;m not sure what I should do to change it; or if I should change it.

Re: LADIES banter/training/motivation thread ??

It’s been many years, but I’m back into it again. Sold my rower about 10 years ago, and bought another last year, in a vain attempt to roll back the years and get fit-ish. They’re holding the Masters Games in Adelaide in October, and the general plan is not to make a fool of myself! Wish me luck!!!

Re: WELCOME to New Members

Ah Ha! That explains a lot. We (Aussie battler and Tina Gallasch) are back after a hiatus of several (many) years. Really looking forward to getting onto the meter board again. We’d forgotten how much fun training is! I’m known to be a masochist.

You've done a wonderful job - and thanks to Concept 2 - we couldn't post anyway. Silver linings all round. FYI - Concept 2 reckon they have fixed their issue as well.

Re: Meter board banter

I'm finding it more inspirational than in past years; lots more to concentrate on other than the overall position. Particularly the mean average, because now I know what I need to do every day to get my 1,000,000. Which doesn't mean to say I won't be hunting you down Barbara :)))

Re: Meter board banter

I absolutely love and appreciate the new meter board format. It's got every single stat I ever wanted without me having to work it out for myself every day. So, thanks heaps.

Oh, absolutely - it's great to keep in touch. There's no doubt that Wayne and I were both over-training, and it takes it's toll both physically and mentally. Thanks for the comment.

Re: LADIES banter/training/motivation thread ??

Hello from deepest South Australia, I've been lurking for the last few posts. I am so out of touch with the rowing community, completely lost motivation, and when I do row I can't get of the thing quick enough. I hate it at the moment. We had to pull out of the Pan Pacific Games which are bei...

I have two digital scales and one reads 1 pound lighter than the other.
I'd always pick the lighter scales

Re: Physio Visit

I haven't been vising the forum for the past while, and so much has been happening. Wendy, I am so sorry about your 'injury' postural or not it's still an injury, but you must be very relieved it's not about the rowing. All the best for a speedy recovery. knowing you, you'll be doing those exercises...

Re: Meter board banter

Come to that, just hanging on here might not be that easy!
If you do that 48 hour row you were talking about, that would certainly cement your present position. You'll be half dead by the end of it, but that's the power of the almighty meter board.

Re: LADIES banter/training/motivation thread ??

I have a girlfriend who lives in a village just outside of Exeter, and she's been complaining about the weather also. While here in Adelaide, it's been the most marvellous day, and we are just back from a drive to an Adelaide Hills Village (Hahndorf) for afternoon tea. Fairly fresh outside, but a br...

Re: LADIES banter/training/motivation thread ??

Hi - Ann, great to hear your boot camp is enjoyable. We have a personal trainer come to our house every week - in fact he's due here in about 45 minutes. We have both found that our strength and fitness has improved a lot since we started this, about a year ago. The only trouble is that I do tend to...
