Re: Meter board banter

I have to admire Jan's HM to push me down a place on the Meterboard on the last day of the season. Well played sir =D> =D> .....unless I do a sneaky 5K before bedtime that is!  Sorry Jon, this is my first HM in a couple of years, thought it would make my Nonathlon score look a bit more ...

Re: December ctc - 813m, standing start

Not so good but I was within 11 ranking places of Olli Zeidller for a very brief time ;-) Hopefully my asthma will settle a bit and I can push on a bit from here. Well done Crushy, and good luck with your next attempt! See you averaged about the same pace as in last month's challenge. I was targeti...

Re: October ctc - 30 mins., standing start, unrestricted

Great rows this month from lots of people! Very strong lightweight result from Claudius, but also from Petr, Peter and Iain in boat 4 who threatened to leave me stranded on shore. Then on came Jill and Clare, and we now have 6 boats floating =D> =D> I'm ashamed to admit that for various excuses (&qu...

Great row and writeup Jon, and no holding back there with a 186 HR!
I will probably try again, but would be very happy with anything over your original target of 7300m.

Re: October ctc - 30 mins., standing start, unrestricted

Well done Jon, I had the same idea this morning. With medium effort and a bit of an end sprint I ended up at 7252m, a SB (however this is only my 2nd timed 30 minutes this season). I'm hoping to improve on this later in the month, but I'm not expecting to end up in boat 3 like last month. Hopefully ...

Re: Holiday in Northumberland

Here are some things I can think of, by no means complete. In and around Alnwick there are Alnwick castle and gardens, Barter Books, and Hulne Park just to the North of the town centre. There's a lot of coastline to visit, with great quiet beaches and the Northumberland Coast Path to link it all up....

Re: September ctc - 5k, standing start, unrestricted

Had my usual early in the month stab and managed 20:20.2 - which annoyingly was only 0.7s slower than my SB. If I hadn't backed off 3 times there were a couple of Nonathlon points available possibly...grrr Thanks Dave, you gave me the motivation to keep going and get into boat 1 for the second mont...

Re: March ctc - 4x4'/4'r

Well done to everyone who completed this, I don't like (semi-)sprinty intervals very much! Decided to have a go yesterday to float our 5th boat, thought I shouldn't overdo it and targeted 1:59 pace. So I was quite pleased when I finished with 1:58.4 overall, and was ready to enter my time for the 4x...

Jill, it's good to see that you're back to regular rowing this month :)
I hope you manage to keep going, and I'm looking forward to your messages on this thread! It will be a while though before I get to a million for this season

Re: May CTC - 3 x 1k / 5 min rest

Actually wondering why so many wait with their entries until the last days of the C2CTC challenges. In my case it's just a case of delaying something unpleasant until there's so little time left that I can't wait much longer  Especially sprinty intervals are not really my cup of tea, must do ...

Re: 2018/19 Summary and Aspirations for 2019/20

Last year started good for me, with PBs for the FM and 6k. Then things went a bit quieter, because I somehow wasn't able to push myself to keep going when things got hard. So I got a decent amount of meters logged and challenges completed, but rowing only at an average pace. This April I managed to ...

Impressive row Claudius, and great improvement by Dave! =D>

My next cunning plan is for all other lightweights to row themselves into boat 1, so I could end up in boat 2 without doing any further rowing

Some impressive results from the team already =D> =D> Good luck everybody with setting new season's and personal bests! Thanks Tako and David, the 60mins was an aborted PB attempt - it was just too hot last Sunday :(
My goal is to get everything nice and green (apart from the FM which I didn't do last year) and to get at least 910 points.
Also thanks to Rodger for doing this, it's a great way to track your progress!
