Metanonathlon 2023/24

We don't seem to have any thread for the Metanonathlon this season.

This is how things stand....with a lovely full-house of green for Iain =D> =D>

Believe me Iain, if you saw what was going on behind the scenes then there would a lot less awe and a lot more "Oh!".

Re: world erg challenge

Will be a struggle as Greenville are all N-Americans so will enter their results after ours. MAnaged to get another 10 miles done to clear 300k, hope others are up to it on this Monday morning! We do have some of our top scoring rowers based over in North America too, so hopefully that will help us...

Re: world erg challenge

I just realised that the World Erg Challenge finishes today not yesterday, so still a chance to help us secure 6th place. We currently have a lead of 122K. I'll fix the tool now to show the correct end date #-o.

Our website and tools

There are quite a few things going on on the website and with our tools. I thought an update might be useful. The Meterboard icons had fallen behind. Mud Season is now up and running and April Fool will show any finishers tomorrow when the challenge ends. The CTC analyser is broken again. As the new...

Re: New ctc site

As expected the new tool can't handle the new way that ashore boats are shown on the new site. #-o

I'll get it fixed by the end of the month if I get a chance.

Re: Injuries.....:(

My low grade injuries from season to season are interesting -- and I think demonstrate form challenges more than anything. Last year was crazy blisters and callouses on the fingers and palm. I suspect from the unnecessary DEATH GRIP on the handle. This year, I've developed a bit of a twinge across ...

Re: New ctc site

It's getting there, now we have the non floating boats listed, just no boat numbers or average time/distance yet. Which of course means the calculations for the new tool will all be thrown out again. Happy days! Having said that, it’s probably as simple as removing the factor that I added in last m...

Re: April CTC - The Baker's Dozen

Second attempt with 20 meters extra. Nevertheless, I fell out of boat no. 2. Hopefully there will be a third boat, because the water is very cold. Personally, I think it's a shame that you can no longer see the incomplete boats. There is a clear rule in FreeSpirits that anyone who drops out of a bo...

Re: April CTC - The Baker's Dozen

Very great rows indeed =D> ^O^ =D> ! Maybe we could both improve by not doing active recovery strokes in between but full stops. It seems to work for Jon, so it might for us. We both clocked in at above 6K, so we rowed more than 2K during the off-minutes. You first  - though seriously Jon prob...

Re: New ctc site

I'd noticed that..... I'll see if it's in my settings to fiddle. I suspect it is at the CTC end Ian. But as far as I can see you are the only person in the CTC that this is happening to, and I don’t think it happened last month, so probably not in your settings unless you have changed anything. Odd...

Re: New ctc site

Jon, not sure why, but your CTC monitor isn't picking up that Ian is in boat 1 for some reason. It’s because he appears as Ian Bee in the rower list and Bee, Ian in the boat. No idea why, but it means our tool doesn’t place him in the boat. All a bit tedious to be honest. I’m hoping it gets fixed a...

I'm sorry to hear that Plummy. I was hoping you were slowly on the mend. Fingers crossed the injection helps, but it doesn't sound like that is going to be the long-term fix for this.

April CTC - The Baker's Dozen

After the dry run towards the end of the month I decided to put in an early effort. Last month's attempt finished at a pace of 1:54.2 so I set myself a bronze target of 1:54, silver:1:52 and gold:1:50. I almost scraped a gold with a final time of 1:50.3. After the last run I decided to put in 4-6 po...

Re: Free Spirits CTC Participation and Leaderboard

I will leave the CTC tool pointing at the March results until Fred has picked them up. At some point I will try to figure out how to show multiple sets of results in a menu, but that isn't looking as simple as it used to be I'm afraid.

Re: New ctc site

The new calculation method has produced the results for March given Boat 1 a score of 160 points for finishing 29th out of 143 boats. This compares with 152 points last month for finishing 32 out of 184 points. I have also added in the fix so that boats that float towards the bottom of the table do ...
