That would be exactly ten people. Is everyone ok with that? Especially those that are not in the team now (Tako, Jon, Claudius, Louise).
That would be OK with me. Happy to make up the numbers if you get any last minute crew members for a second team, but also ok with being left out.

Re: Final Push for Dog Days of Summer

45 Free Spirits completed the challenge. Some with remarkable distances (Dwayne - 827k) and some with remarkable precision (Sandy Roy - 100,001m).

Well done all. As others have remarked, a walk in the park for some, a real challenge towards the end for others.

Re: Indoor Rowers League 2019/2020

I kind of made up the numbers last year so I am happy to drop out if you have too many, or to stay in if you need numbers to keep two teams going.

I agree that two teams worked well last year.

Re: Final Push for Dog Days of Summer

I love your updates Jill! How could I not finish after such a lengthy, encouraging response  The UK public holiday helped me out today and I managed a lengthy warm up/down plus a 10k to complete the event. I have to confess I thought I was comfortably over the line, but ended up doing just 4...

Threw in my second HM on my Saturday rest day, leaving me only approximately 1500m left to cover over the next available 2 days to meet the final weeks mileage. And the HM was 5 min faster than last time :D

Final Push for Dog Days of Summer

60 brave Free Spirits have made it through the first three weeks of the Dog Days challenge. 14 dropped out in week 3. Some will breeze through it without blinking, but for many this is obviously the toughest week. Good luck all. Given my travel plans this week I know I am going to have to grab every...

After reaching the 7k a day again and doing the C2CTC and cool down I noticed the nice score in the log book today :-)
That's got to be worth a 4321m warm-up row, surely.

Re: AUG CTC - 'Dog Days Double Double'

There is a very small number (10) of rowers in the CTC this month and we are already half way through the month. Is it because of holiday season maybe? :?:

Re: AUG CTC - 'Dog Days Double Double'

Hi Tako, I'm a lightweight now (at least for the moment). I don't know how the ctc boats distribute the lightweights. Each boat seats 5 rowers. The seats can only be occupied by certain categories of rower, as follows: Seats 1, 2 and 3 are OPEN. Anyone may occupy these seats. Seat 4 is for LIGHTWEI...

Thanks as ever Rodger.

This could be interesting this year as I am doing all distances (apart from 500m) at R19 in a vain attempt to improve technique and strength.

The bar has been set high already by Torquemada! =D>

Unfortunately my new Garmin HR monitor on the wrist struggled to catch the first intervals, while the breast belt connected to erg performed well (see above). I've never had any success at all with a wrist heart monitor on the erg. Just doesn't sem to get anything close to real heart rate. I have s...

Re: June ctc - 20 x 300m / 1'r

I need an unusually (for me) structured approach to this one because it looked so painful and I had no idea about pace. I decided to do this at a 2k pace and to cap my HR at 177 (for mo particularly scientific reason). The HR capping worked really well for me. It stopped fly-and-die behaviour which ...

Not sure what else to suggest. I've checked the C2 forums and there doesn't seem to be much chatter about issues.

Last suggestion - are you running the latest firmware?

Re: May CTC - 3 x 1k / 5 min rest

BW Rowing announced their CTC choice for May: "3x1k 5min rest". I take it that means 5 minutes in both rest intervals, 10 minutes rest total. Looking at the c2ctc forum thread, it is going to be described as 3x1k with 5 min rest between intervals. Unrestricted pace. Rolling starts for interval 2 an...

Re: Logging Results

I personally rely on a combination of the Concept2 Log, Strava and Garmin Connect Dashboard. I have all three of them linked up, but if I want to get a diary/summary of my rowing I usually end up on Concept2 Log. The Log will give you PBs if you look at the History tab and will also give you SBs if ...

Despite setting a new HR Max of 192 8-[ I still only managed 1:45.3 which is way off my SB and PB. Then again, I did do it straight after the c2ctc 1,500m #-o

I would have another go, but will me heart stand up to it?? [-o<

It needs a few eyes on it to test (and indeed to say whether this is helpful), so please feel free to view. I can't tell if its my PC being sluggish or not, but the update on open takes a few seconds to process.
When I look at this I see Forum Flyers and Free Spirits Ian.

Re: March ctc - 666/333/666/333/666/333/666/333 - 10' 30" total rest

I had my first go at the CTC since October. Weighted 76.5 kilos this morning, so had to revert back to my hwt user name. The time (16:20.8 or 2:02.7/500m) is nothing to write home about, but actually exceeded my low expectations. It's a new start anyway (I hope). Great to see you back rowing Rodger...

Not much left afterwards. Which brings me to a kind of noob question: I understand the feeling HD stands for, but where does the abbreviation stand for?
HD = Handle Down. It and many other terms are defined in Plummy's Lexicon Guide
